RAPOPORT: Chiefs prioritizing extending Hill and Jones this offseason, may tag Ford
Hope this is all true, it makes a ton of sense. Sounds like Ford will likely be tagged, as Rapoport says they would like to keep him somehow. |

Veach will make him the highest paid QB in NFL history. That extension will occur before Chiefs fans can even say the words "5th year option"
End of ****ing story. Quit being a bunch of cocksucking reeruns about this shit. |

You might be misreading. I'm saying the Chiefs will get him if they pay him what he's worth. I'm not at all worried he will go to the highest bidder. I used gase as an example to say why would you leave Reid for a coach like gase just because the Jets offered you a lot more money? It's easily kcs race to lose.

The 5th year option will likely be apart of the extension, but you are right

It doesn't matter what the **** the franchise or Mahomes camp wants. The two will absolutely strike a deal at the end of the day. There's literally NO doubt about it lol. Do you think a guy like ****ing Clark Hunt would let Mahomes walk? He didn't even let Berry go and Berry was battling cancer and had tons of risk. Mahomes is going to be Chief for life. A deal getting done isn't an if, it's a when. This city would literally disown the franchise if it didn't happen.

There's a reason why Kirk Cousins was being talked about all of LAST year even in the regular season, and he was all anybody talked about post-Alex trade during the offseason.
It's so rare for a QB to waltz into free agency like that where he was a former starter looking to find a franchise because his old team didn't want him or did something to piss him off. Even when the Broncos ****ed up the Jay Cutler situation. They got rid of him on a trade. It's never been ANY kind of market for starting QBs like Kirk Cousins, much less someone like Patrick ****ing Mahomes, who could be widely considered the best QB in the NFL by the time he reaches that point. This whole, "Pat might want ________" in his new team is ****ing garbage ass bullshit. It would be the first time in NFL history such a thing occurred. It would represent the BIGGEST ****ING mismanagement of a team ever. People would talk about it like they talk about the Ricky Williams trade up to this day. Lastly, Clark Hunt intervened when Dorsey pissed off Eric Berry. A ****ing safety. Let's imagine the impossible happening. Let's say Mahomes is out for blood in his contract, and Veach is trying to Guru him. It comes to blows and Mahomes says, "**** this!" Clark Hunt intervened to prevent fan backlash over a safety. You think this time he's going to sit on his ass and **** around with his fantasy soccer lineups while this is going on? DRM08, we are all giant dumbasses on this forum at one point or another. Here's your moment. It's not a big deal, but I just advise you to back slowly away and pretend it never happened. |

Easy to say we want to extend Jones, Hill, and Tag Ford, but what do those contracts look like and how do they affect our cap situation? Can anyone break this down for us with relatively strong guestimates?
Additionally, although I love these guys and hate to throw shade can someone provide some speculation on whether or not Houston, Berry, and Watson would be potentially willing to restructure and what that could look like? |

Watkins is only on a 3 year deal and the Chiefs can get out of that deal after next year. Even then, they can keep him over the full life of that contract and be okay provided something is done about Berry, Houston, and/or Ford (if he's still around after a presumed one-year tag). We'll be able to cut Hitchens at that point as well or do something about his deal. LDT can either be kept or cut being on the last year of that extension he signed. Small (yet annoying) contracts from JAGS like Sorensen will hopefully be all done (as Veach hopefully wisens up and avoids those mistakes that Dorsey fell victim to). That's not specific with numbers, but basically what I'm trying to say is we'll be fine. |

The 3 words I "bolded" will not happen is my point. In your wording you actually give them a chance of happening. I think you are misreading my point in that these 3 words won't see the light of day.
