Let’s say you’re friends with Danny Ocean or whatever, and he breaks in to Fort Knox and gifts you gold bullion, exactly 1 gold brick.

How do you turn that into money? I’ve never pieces that together.

Legally AND illegally, give answers for both or either.

Typically, precious metals are a credible investment in an environment where debt and equity lose value.

But in a total societal collapse? Water and bullets would be worth much more than gold or silver.

What karat is this hypothetical gold bar? Remember, the purer the gold, the softer it is. I think that pure gold (36k?) is so soft you could literally take a sharp knife and scrape off some gold flakes or shavings. Take some shavings to a dealer or whatever and sell it. Easy money.
