None of that info is helpful to authorities. They're just being super vain and seeking participation trophies, right?

Nah, most of the time these cowards off themselves. Study them, let’s try and figure out a solution that doesn’t involve punishing the 99.9 percent of people who do everything right.

The gun culture is so bad that we are ****ed for at least a few decades. But hopefully we can change things that will help our great grandchildren. Stricter laws, efforts to reduce ownership, whatever. We need less physically weak white dudes who fetishize guns and violence.

That isn't an answer either. This is so ****ed. Everyone agrees this sucks but there are no answers. It just turns into politics. Also, what the **** does this have to do with race? You get the retard award number two.

Obviously being sarcastic, but I know that grabbing guns is not the answer. I can't understand why there wasn't a resource officer in place today. I know in Independence schools all doors in are locked during the day and to gain entry you have to buzz in with your ID and the resource officer is usually at the desk with the secretaries.

The best I can come up with regarding actually reducing incidents, while respecting our rights and freedoms as the law-abiding, is to work hard to erase the societal notion that your own disappointments are the fault of others.
Also, increase the visibility of, and respect for, peacekeeping entities, from teachers to admin to law enforcement. Don't make it an oppositional thing, constantly reinforce that they are there to protect, not oppress.
Beyond that, recognize that these incidents are still quite rare, celebrate as they decrease in frequency, and not turn every incident into a nationwide nonstop conversation.

Our school has a door buzzer too. I've been there a few times during school. You hit the buzzer and they let you in. Doesn't seem to secure to me. I suppose if they were even looking at the camera and I was waving around a gun they might not buzz me in, but if I had a gun under my coat? Don't think it really works.

This is my view. What was this guy doing in the school to begin with? He's not a student, teacher, janitor, or parent.
