Where comedy has gone today...

I don't agree with all comments in this vid but I do agree with his takes (and only his takes) on comedy.

Comedy should always be pushing the bubble of society and making us look at things we don't normally look at.

I'd say liberal or conservative but I can only think of 1 comic out of the 4 I know of that are conservative and actually funny while not accused of rape or sexual assault.

Conservative comics are like women - they just suck at it.

We had shadow bans here at CP almost a decade before it became the norm at Twitter or FB.

We were proud of having it here.

All you people wanting to line up and kick Rausch in the nuts, do so now.

This is really going to hurt.

Billy Burr is probably my favorite active comedian.

Rogan is great.

I miss Patrice. One of the most naturally funny men you'll ever see. The guy could do an entire comedy set with no material. He could just walk on stage, riff on the audience, pull some stories out of his fat black ass, and keep you laughing the whole time.

I'm not saying they're left or right... I'm saying they don't try and win political points. They're trying to be funny.

Yeah, I love Burr. I'm a big fan of Joe obviously, but I've found a lot of other guys just listening to the podcast.

Kreisher, Bryan Callen, Theo von etc.

I think comedy is pretty good right now. maybe it's just me though?

I think I missed some series of event and that I'm simply an observer of you shouting into the ether.

You getting banned? Did you deserve it? I don't think CP bans people for being conservative. *looks around*

Yeah, I'm pretty damn sure CP doesn't ban people for that.

I agree.

I love stand up comedy, and there are some really funny guys out there. I think some people just think the comedy world is about the Kimmels and the Olivers.

It's not.

I guess Adam Carolla is another guy who would qualify as a 'conservative' comedian.

I was wanting to go see Joey Diaz in KC this weekend to, just couldn't make it happen.

Winters is absolutely insane .

Indeed. Winters was great! Foster Brooks was one of the best I ever saw. As a kid we used to watch a TV show in Louisville called "TBarV". Local kid show starring locals, one of which was Foster's Brother.

That's what I was talking about. Comedy USED to be about being funny.

That's not to say that I didn't occasionally enjoy someone like a Sam Kennison. He was hilarious. But today - as opposed to the 80s and 90s, it seems to be all about attack, attack and moire attacks.

Patrice was pretty special. His "Black Phillip Show" on radio was something to behold. His "ain't that better?" bit still gets me. He was on Sean Hannity once and John Gibson once, both worth the watch. His understanding of relationships was top-notch.

I like Bill Burr, but his podcast has declined a bit lately. I worry that him getting married, having a kid, and not having Patrice around to riff on him, has taken the edge off of his comedy. He seemed most at home being angry at women and society, but lately he's way too apologetic about everything.

I've always been a fan of Dennis Miller.....he's a decent example of someone who's been very political in his comedy, but in rare territory where he flipped aisles (I believe he said his political outlook changed after 9/11).

I found him funny pre and post 9/11.

Norm Macdonald is one funny bastard and he definitely comes from a more conservative side.

I sincerely have no idea why he hasn't been more successful. He obviously can't act, but goddamn he's hilarious.

Miller reminds me of Norm because every time he'd have Norm on his show he's laughing so hard he can barely talk.
