Bates County Missouri has a Pop Density of 20/square mile. That is 1 person for every 32 acres.

I would enjoy knowing how that could have worse pollution than any city. Or maybe I'm missing something here...fresh air and clean living can do that.

You're not understanding the claim. The claim is not is what is less polluted rural land or city land. The claim is what produces more pollution per inhabitant.

Land does not produce pollution....people do. Imagine 2 counties, County A and County B. County A has a population of 1000 people who live across 10000 acres. County B has a population of 1000 people who live across 10 acres. Which county produces more pollution?

County B will produce less pollution because an Apartment complex containing 1000 residents, produces less pollution than 350 individual homes does.

Carbon is an element found in thousands of regulated pollutants.

If you are asking about carbon dioxide in particular, yes it is a pollutant subject to regulations.

They have curtailed pollution a lot. Long way to go but the real shitholes are India and Pakistan and Bangladesh. Three filthy vile places full of sewers, cesspools of shit and filthy, filthy air.

No where in that document is the EPA stating carbon is a pollutant. Calling carbon -- the fundamental building block for life in the known universe -- a pollutant is insane.

You might want to look into Massachusetts v. EPA..... it was kind of a big deal....

Why are you insisting on framing this as "carbon" instead of carbon compounds? When people say carbon emissions it is shorthand for carbon dioxide. Yes carbon dioxide is a pollutant at elevated concentrations.

You can call it whatever you want. If we cover you in 100 feet of water we can say you drowned or we can say you died of water pollution. You're still dead. X
amount carbon in the atmosphere is either detrimental to the ecosystem or it is not. Arguing if it should be classified as a pollutant is silly.
