Had to have been some serious locker room cancer stuff going on. They save no money by cutting him now, and judging by the DB depth chart, that area was not a clear choice for freeing up a roster spot.

Damn, I can't say I saw this coming at all..

So now we have two slow, 5'9" starting corners, one of the slowest free safeties in the league, who just so happens to take some of the worst angles I've ever witnessed, and Berry, who seems to be in the box 80% of the time?

We were getting burnt before, what's the level of toastyness beyond that?

I don't give a flying shit that Routt was cut.

He was garbage. Pioli made a reactionary move after the loss of Carr and in typical Pioli fashion, made the wrong move.

The move to cut him, in and of itself, shows that Pioli is truly scared for his job and wants to appear like a rational guy to possible future employers.
