GTA Online doesn't release the same day the single player content does. On Tuesday, you will be able to play the game, but the online portion of the title itself doesn't launch until October.

Its supposed to keep track of the launch of GTA online in you character selection wheel, in which the countdown to the launch is displayed in the blank character slot in the bottom that is meant to be for your online avatar.

Kinda sucks, I was looking forward to the online quite a bit, but theres a metric shitload of content in the offline mode, so it shouldn't matter too much.

I actually really love the idea that everyone has a couple of weeks to get used to the city and game, plus experience as much of the story as they like prior to hopping into Nutso Future Land and never leaving again. That being said, I can't wait to finally get my Female Protagonist on in my favorite murder simulator series ever.

Does anyone know how much the Single player campaign will be connected to multiplayer? For example, if I play the single player on one PSN account and the multiplayer on another, will I be at any disadvantages?

I dont believe your performance in single player is connected to multiplayer. However, it seems multiplayer is really deep. Not something you want to have multiple accounts playing.

I can tell you. I expect to be downloading this game at 9PM PST on Monday. That gives me 9 hours to download 18 gigs. If that isnt enough time or they havnt put the game on the sony store yet, I am going to walmart at 6am tuesday and doing a chargeback to sony. I am dreading what a cluster this online launch will be on the PSN store.

What really sucks, if you hacked your PS3, you could have been playing it since thursday.

There's this page on Facebook that has started posting quick 20 second gameplays. I guess that's how they got it.

Yeah, from what I have read on reddit. The 360 was leaked due to a box that "fell off the truck in Oakland." I kid you not. The people who got them were not that technically savvy. That is why there has been so many shitty Vine videos on the net and only recently has there been any good gameplay videos because the "scene" finally got a hold of it.

Damn, there is a service on ebay I found that would downgrade my console to 3.55 firmware for $35. Had I known that and knew the scene would have torrents of GTA V 5 days before launch I would have totally gone that route earlier this month.

Once again, being an honest consumer only ends up getting the short end of the stick.
