What is the Bevo12?

I don't understand these arguments.

Just because you guys don't win don't try and make it like Texas runs show. They don't. They have the most money because they are the largest brand and the flagship university of the country's 2nd most populous state.

In the Big12 you build your own brand. Here we have schools that go out on their own and achieve on the field and financially.

Just because these schools don't hide under the umbrella of a conference doesn't make them any worse off.

KU wouldn't be allowed to make the kinds of millions they make in the SEC when it comes to third tier rights. Just another reason why this conference is the best fit for Kansas.

You sure do love those third tier rights...KU sure does love cashing that check from Texas for putting their football game on the Longhorn Network I suppose.

If Texas and Oklahoma left tomorrow would the Big12 continue to live on?

It wouldn't be the same of course not.

If Alabama and Florida left the S.E.C... If Ohio State and Michigan left the Big 10, if USC and UCLA left the PAC12

None of those scenarios would be good for the respective conferences.

Texas is not shipping all their sports teams to Washington and Oregon. Only desperate schools end up traveling their teams to extreme regions. Traditional powers stay where they've always been.

That is a pretty delusional "take". Look on the bright side the Missouri Valley and thier "rich baskeball tradition" awaits.

One of these things is not like the other... one of these things just doesn't belong...

When have Alabama and Florida or Ohio State and Michigan EVER publicly and openly flirted with conference change?

Oklahoma would be in the PAC already if they'd take OU without UT.

UT has been in discussion with the Big Ten (before any discussion of Missouri or Nebraska to the B1G ever happened), the PAC and the ACC. The only thing holding them back at this point is the LHN. You better hope it starts breaking even, because if they dump it, good luck keeping 'em around. (Same thing with keeping them around if it becomes a big success).

Your comparison fails because Oklahoma and Texas have engaged in behavior that none of those others have. OU and UT are flight risks. They're the high-rolling drug dealers with offshores account who can get out whenever they want. That's why the Big 12 needed to make their "bail" so excessive.

Alabama, Florida, Michigan, and Ohio State are the pillars of the community who pose no flight risk at all and are released to their own recognizance.

The difference is none of those others schools tried to leave multiple times in the last 2-3 years.

There is a reason why Colorado, Nebraska, A&M and then MU left.

IMVHO if Texas and Oklahoma left like they almost did 6 months ago the Big12 would cease to exist and KU would be in the MAC

I dunno. KU was in "discussions" to join the BIG 10 as far back as 93. Sometimes things you hear as discussions are just that. I can "discuss" going to the moon, doesn't mean its going to happen.

Fact remains that big time collegiate powers like UT and OU don't go play in far away conferences. People come to them. They've both been asked to join the S.E.C. In the past as well. I don't see why you guys don't get this.

Maybe its just your loathing for KU and the desire to see them waving in the wind that is getting in the way of seeing how these things really happen.

Something tells me the school that holds the NCAA Division 1 record for combined football and basketball victories in a single season won't be playing in the MAC, lol.

I honestly don't know where you would end up. Hopefully for you guys and KSU and ISU the Big12 stays intact.
