This dude, while undoubtedly an All-Pro on the field, was really jaded with KC and I am kind of glad he is gone for both parties. Good mental health and happiness goes a long way. I would rather he be in LA, than causing holdout drama in Mahomes first season.

Peters is a California kid and was never going to make a career in KC. If Veach didn't trade him now, he'd be looking to get a 3rd round comp pick for him after he got a FA deal from the Raiders. It's better long term to get a the 23rd pick and a 5th rounder this year and a 2nd round pick next year. Marcus gave us 3 good years at a cost of less than $6.5 million in cap space and we got a nice package of picks for him when we knew he'd never sign a new contract.

Generally trading a franchise QB,elite pass rusher or elite cover corner is never a good idea. This trade will be more about lessening the loss than gaining anything. Even if Fuller turns out to be great, doesn't change the loss of another very good corner.
