The Bears have so many holes, it's really amazing they made it as far as they did this year.

I will openly discuss this since none of the teams infront of me need a QB. Do you think Carrol would go for a guy like Ponder? Hasselback has a year left and they paid for Whitehurst but he ****ing sucks.

That said, I still don't think that Ponder is a first-rounder, though I think he's a very intriguing prospect and someone whom I'd love to see the Chiefs draft in the second. |

I agree with you though I'd love to see the Chiefs grab Ponder in round 2 but he won't be there when we pick. I hope that lay down game in San Diego opened his eyes about drafting and grooming a QB because Croyle showed not only did he suck but he has no leadership whatsoever. |

I actually think if the draft fell close to this, we'd see a sharp increase in the chances Ponder goes in the first.
The general thinking is that Gabbert and Newton are the top tier, and that there are scores of second-tier QBs that will make the picking pretty good in rounds 2 and 3. But if there's a slightest hint that that well of second-tier QBs is drying up faster than expected (such as the Vikes going with Locker #12 overall), I fully suspect there'd be a run on QBs in the 1st and 2nd round. Keapernick, Ponder, Mallett, and perhaps even Dalton would benefit from this directly, as teams pay top dollar for promising prospects with upside. The Seahawks could probably ride Hasselbeck for another year so long as they get him another weapon, if they had to. The question goes to you as the GM: how badly do you think the Seahawks need a QB? If it's that desperately bad, do you think you can get the guy you want in 2 or 3? If you think the talent is going to run dry, do it now while you can. Just understand that your job would be on the line if you were truly the Seahawks GM. |

Shawn Phillips is also from Purdue, so he might take this guy under his wing if we take him. |

You have Phillips and 3 guys that are all FA's after this year, IIRC. Just happened that value met need in this case. |

The Giants are in need of OT. Their primary target, Tyron Smith, was snatched up by Detroit. They get their #2 choice, an up and comer who had glowing reviews from the Combine and Senior Bowl.
The New York Giants select OT Nate Solder, Colorado. |

I could be a dick and make my pick right now......but I won't.
And seriously....how hard is it for people to check the OP and see who was taken? It's not like were 6 rounds into this thing. FFS. |
