Is it time to replace Arrowhead with a dome?

The cold, crappy Dec/Jan. KC weather doesn't appear to provide any real home field advantage anymore.

At least the fans wouldn't be so miserable in a nice climate controlled facility. No more thousands of no shows or leaving at halftime on bad weather days.

Pro's and Con's of a Dome, entering and exiting the stadium.

Cold or bitter cold / Long walk in,people stop as soon as they get in to undress some heavy over coatings. While in the stands, you have to sit on it or hold it.

Likewise leaving, people are stopping while exiting and taking time to bundle up. You are dressed and people will delay the faster fans trying to leave.

Then you have the casual fan that didn't dress warm enough and they freeze exiting.

There is always something!

Not true. The addition of backpack lockers would hold those Carharts and solve that issue right quick.

Some of my favorite memories growing up are freezing my ass off with my great uncle in section 110 right under the deck above. The wind whipped through there so bad. I loved it.

Some of my best memories are freezing my ass off with my dad. And you know what - those memories would be even better if it was 70 degrees.

The only reason people think "the elements" is a part of football is because they grew up in it. The rolling roof is the best of both worlds - you can be outside when it's reasonably nice - but if it's a blizzard - well good news! You don't have to deal with that shit.

I wasn't bragging. There are many great 4K tvs in the $500 - $700 range.

I have a Hisense with HDR, which is the most popular brand in China, but in the U.S. it's treated like an off-brand. They have all the features of more expensive brands but cost less. I love mine.

But sitting home, watching the game on any TV larger than 36" instead of freezing for a few hours just to watch your team piss away another playoff win, really is a better experience.

The rain is really the only element I can't stand sitting in. Thats the only real thing I would enjoy not having to deal with.

Here's a thought; maybe some people don't romanticize freezing their ****ing asses off in -10, yes? Yes.
It's an afterthought anyway; this league will have everyone from Arrowhead to Three Rivers and beyond playing in an approximation of reasonable weather if not full-on climate control.
You know it's coming.

Curious here, how many of those in the elemental group would turn down the enclosed luxury box and sit in the rain?

Masochism is not a virtue but a trial.

I can imagine these fans demanding the MXC game continue as planned, after all it's just a bit of mud and it's football for garsh sakes.

I've never had the pleasure of attending a game at Arrowhead. I have, however, gone to several Chiefs games when I was younger and still lived in San Diego and I do attend any they play in Baltimore or Washington. I was supposed to finally go this year and had planned on going to the game against the Jaguars 10/7 (my birthday is 10/8) but my back was too ****ed up and I ended up having my SI joint fusion 11/8.

Anyway, having never been to the stadium I'd have only one stipulation.. Acoustics. Part of what makes Arrowhead, at least in my opinion as an observer, Arrowhead is the crowd noise. If they went to a retractable roof (in the shape of an arrowhead would be bad ass) that still allowed for near-deafening noise I'd be all for it. I do get the arguments of blah blah blah uphill both ways and blah blah blah freeze my nuts off or whatever, but how cool would it be to not freeze your nuts off and not get rained, sleeted, snowed on? I'd imagine pretty nifty. Maybe I'm just a pussy, but the handful of Ravens/Skins games I've gone to later in the season are ****ing miserable, and not just because its the Skins or Ravens... Shit, I do(or did before my work accident. don't know what my future is yet) HVAC and work outside in this shit enough during the week to not want to sit out in it on the weekend.
