Peters Suspended

One game. Per Andy.

Summary from Andy (paraphrase) : Best for organization. Talked to Peters. Difficult to do as I like Peters.

He ripped us last time. We got tore up by the ****ing Jets last week WITH Peters.

Anyone paying attention was nervous about this game...
Carr ripped us up last time because he threw a bunch of jump balls mostly at mitchell. Lots of deep yards and a ton of mostly bullshit dpi that game. Mitchell and Sutton played it much better today. Mitchell looked great. Peters wasn't all world but he was far from the reason we lost last time. So it's silly to think him not being there was the x factor today.

It was a great lesson for him to watch from the bench. But let's not lead this delusion that Peters is anywhere close to our biggest problem on defense or that we're better off without him.

So you're saying the only reason Carr ripped us last time was he completed a ton of deep passes and our D gave up a ton of DPI calls?

Ok.

That means Carr played well and our D played like shit. The exact opposite of the point you were making...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Collectively from a subconscious level for our defense, it was a relief to them they didn't have to worry about a baby losing it's diaper defecating all over itself as well as on everyone else today

It did make a difference today he was not out there.

We've got a 90%+ chance of going to the playoffs if we beat the Chargers. We'd basically have to lose at home to the Dolphins AND on the road to the Broncos AND all of our challenging opponents for the playoff spots would need to win out in order for us to get booted.

It's critically important we win on Saturday. You really want to go into that game with Revis, Mitchell, and Nelson like we did today?

Just because we beat a poorly coached Raiders team today doesn't mean we'll have the same success against the Chargers, who are playing pretty well as of late.

We're going to need Peters on Saturday. End of story.

Yeah, that mental stress of worrying about Marcus Peters is what made our defense play like shit all season.

Quack!

This.

And the main reason the Chiefs secondary looked better today was because the Chiefs front 7, specifically their defensive line was finally getting pressure on Carr.

In the 4th quarter when that pressure vanished, the shit show that is the Chiefs secondary was exposed.

Definitely. And maybe after the defense looked better today in his absence, he will come back feeling like he has something to prove. Even better for us.

Please explain why we need Peters against a worse WR team in the Chargers.

Peters has a history of being owned by Allen so your argument is bullshit.

And your solution is to put Terrence Mitchell or broke dick Revis on Allen?

"Worse WRs" have nothing to do with it. The Chargers are a better team. We need all the good players we can get.

Jesus Christ... I don't ****ing care what we do with Peters at the end of the year. Cut him, trade him, whatever. I'm not one of those guys. While he's ON THE TEAM, coming off a suspension, we need him against a very good Chargers team.

The Chargers are a "worse WR team" than the Raiders, minus a healthy Cooper?

Also the Chiefs secondary didn't play that great today... they were assisted greatly by the Chiefs front 7, specifically their defensive line finally getting more consistent pressure.

See what happened to the secondary when the pressure vanished in the fourth quarter.

Absolutely no.

They have Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams, and Benjamin. Plus Hunter Henry has finally come on.

The Chargers have the deepest set of WR's in the division...

Allen isn't the only issue with the Chargers. They are as good an offense, if not better than Oakland. Some people just aren't seeing that for some reason. They have played like the second best team in the division, if not the best, for a month plus.

What the secondary can do for a week without Peters and what they can do for multiple games are not necessarily the same thing. We are better with Peters. We shall see if his attitude resets.

I just don't see how a Chiefs secondary is going to hold up long-term with Revis and Terrance out there all the time. Rivers won't play like Carr did, I can almost promise that.
