Game of Thrones Thread

Feel free to discuss any future speculation, theories. Anything from the books is fair game to post. Everything that has been broadcast on TV or from HBO. No spoilers needed.

  1. If you watched or know the events that will take place in a unaired episode that has not been broadcast on HBO, you must put all the information and comments in a spoiler tag.
  2. Do not post any media of any kind involving actual content from unaired episodes without being in a spoiler. The only exception to the spoiler rule is content publicly posted from HBO and or the GOT actor themselves. Teasers, promos, trailers etc.

Any person unable to follow the spoiler rules will be banned from this thread. 14 days for first offense. Perm banned from the thread for a 2nd offense.

I imagine there will be something that interferes with the mental bond she has with the Dragons so that they just run amok attacking anyone. A relatively easy thing for a writer to contrive.

Not sure what people think the benefits of more dragons will be other than to strengthen Daenerys Targaryen.

btw her Dragons should make pretty short of the army of white walkers. If Dragon Glass makes White Walkers explode then so should Dragon Breath.

Dragon horns originate from Old Valyria, prior to the Doom. The dragonlords of old sounded such horns, before the Doom devoured them. [1] [2]
It is not known if one horn can control more that one dragon, or how many dragons one horn can control.

Euron Greyjoy is confident he can control more than one dragon with Dragonbinder but he has yet to be proven correct.

It has not been mentioned how exactly the Targaryens controlled their dragons. The dragon skulls still remain in the Red Keep but no mention of dragon horns in Westeros has been made.

Sam finds a manuscript with enough info to explain the process and hints at dragons inside the wall, Bran discovers a hiding place for a horn during a vision, Jon Snow races to the wall to retrieve the horn and release the dragons inside who are now under his command.

That is easy. Winter. The coldest winter ever according to the Citadel. Dragons are reptilian and thus are presumed cold blooded animals. Cold makes reptiles lethargic at best and kills them quite easily.

Sounds exactly like something the show would do.
I picture the scene as Bran and Meera face to face with the camera shooting over her right shoulder, focusing on him. He's telling the story in a very animated fashion and quickly spitting out his words. The camera circles around them to the right and slowly rotates to its left as he talks. As he runs out of steam her face is now centered in frame over his left shoulder and she has no reaction whatsoever. When he stops talking she just says, "I know." Then skip to a different POV sequence. In the next Bran sequence they can discuss whether they should tell anyone and, if so, who.

I don't see any type of marriage alliance between Targs and Lannisters though. Once Cersei dies there'll basically be no real power left in that family. Jamie will be the only one worth a shit left breathing.
The Lannisters with Jamie left standing would still be rich and have a good size army.

Lots of water has to pass under the bridge before Jamie/Danerys ride off into the sunset. Like forgiving him for killing her Dad. Cleagnebowl has to happen to remove the Mountain before Cersi can be killed. The war not going so good in the conquering phase to make her tilt towards Jamie. Jamie has to forgive Tywin for freeing him and then he kills his Dad.

Director Mark Mylod will also be back after helming four of the series' episodes, including "No One" and "The Broken Man."

This is nearly as bad news from the article. Miguel Siponchnik not directing what should be some of the most intense episdoe of the series is lame. Mark Mylod directing any more GoT episodes ever awful. Add in there that the dude that directed quite possibly the worst episode ever (Sand snakes/Bronn/Jaime fight) is directing another episode.

Brienne and Jon are still dead in the books.

Bronn was out in the books after they got through Blackwater.

We spent 500 pages of Stanis druging through the snow to get to Wiinterfell. Another 500 pages deciding who would lead the Iron Islands.

Does this thing end with Danerys sacrificing herself to save humans from the White Walkers and Jon Targaryen sitting on the Iron throne?

It's been weeks of peeking into this thread, asking 'why are they talking about Tywin again,' then noting it's you, over and over.

The story lines and myriad theories and spoilers and speculations are hard enough to follow when the correct names are used.

It's not a big deal, but it does make for head scratching reading and is simple enough to correct.
