FWIW, the new Marvel Darth Vader comics make Anakin an even more sympathetic character, as he’s constantly fighting the urge to return to the good side of The Force.

He began to doubt Palpatine almost immediately after becoming Vader.

It’s almost as if they’re trying to make his back story parallel Ben Solo’s.

There are a couple of Vader graphic novels that are fantastic as well, apparently.

I want Filoni and your boy Gareth Edwards to tag team some Star Wars projects in the future, and those two would crush a Vader movie together (I really should own a major studio. I'm an idea guy. )

I know that a lot of people hate on TPM due to Jar Jar but Palpatine's backstory, Darth Maul, young Obi Wan and especially Qui-Gon Jinn are just epic, IMO.

The third act, with Padme leading the Naboo military while Obi Wan and Qui-Gon are battling Darth Maul while a space battle is happening simultaneously is one of the greatest Star Wars acts, IMO.

It's not as great as the third act of Rogue One but it's pretty close, IMO.
Phantom Menace is nearly a Dune-level abomination. The only reason it's not worse than Dune is because it didn't butcher the greatest science fiction novel ever written and the special effects are good. Plinket's review of Phantom Menace exposes every wretched aspect of it perfectly.

Despite the numerous flaws of VII and VIII, they're the Blade Runner movies compared to I.

I don't hate it, it was just the first movie after the best trilogy ever made. It had an impossible standard to live up to.

PM feels more star wars than 8, though.

Jar Jar was bad, but my kids love him. Who knows.....

When I was a kid:

Return of the Jedi
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back

Today:

Rogue One/Empire
Hope
Return of the Jedi
Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
Last Jedi
AOTC
Phantom Menace

Attack of the Clones had cool fighting scenes at the end, and the birth of the Empire during the last few minutes was awesome. Wasn't a fan of the PM fighting scenes. They were poorly acted and beyond stupid when little bastard Darth Vader crashes into the hanger bay and fires off lucky shots.

Rogue One was so ****ing good. Empire SB needs no explanation. The Force Awakens falls flat with me and is merely average.

I LOVED Jedi when I was a kid. The multiple planet settings along with a phenomenal final space fight was entertainment heroin to me.

They won't when they grow up.

The biggest failing of Episode III is that Anakin didn't immediately find Jar Jar and put his lightsaber through his face after he turned.

I am sure some nerd fan has edited this into his definitive collection.

I'd love to see it. Jar Jar sits high atop my pantheon of annoying movie characters.

I would have actually enjoyed Gone With the Wind if Rhett Butler had shot Scarlett in the face at the end. Annoying screeching witch.

I dont even include Ep 1-3.

All shit movies. And The Last Jedi certainly falls into this category as well.

But here's where I'd rank my faves:

1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue One
5. The Force Awakens.
