SFGATE: S.F. D.A. Chesa Boudin fires at least 7 attorneys 2 days after starting job

Quote:
Two days after being sworn in as San Francisco's new District Attorney, Chesa Boudin reportedly fired at least seven attorneys from his office.

Among the Friday firings were multiple managing attorneys in the criminal division...

...According to the Chronicle, Boudin hired new four attorneys on Monday. Two formerly worked at the public defender's office.
Boudin ran on a platform of major justice system reform, from ending cash bail to ending mass incarceration.

"There’s an awful lot about our criminal justice system that is dysfunctional. Everyone who sets foot in a criminal courtroom will see myriad ways the system is dysfunctional," Boudin told SFGATE recently.

This isn't some isolated case of a random idiot, though. This is a systematic approach, being done mostly in cities where the Democrats are so entrenched that they can all but ignore the will of the people. New York's pullback is mostly because of the attacks on the Jews that were being reported nationally, and that woman (Tiffany Harris) was let out 3 times in quick succession. The blowback got so bad that DeBlasio intervened and got the woman locked up in a psych ward.

I thought of the Mosby woman in Baltimore too. I remember her basically being elected on outrage at police. Despite having any kind of case in the Freddie Gray death, she aggressively went after the officers and I think lost every time.

There are always political aspects to the head prosecutor job, but the less political you can be, the better IMO.

The subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust... The prosecution of them, for this reason, will seldom fail to agitate the passions of the whole community, and to divide it into parties more or less friendly or inimical to the accused. In many cases it will connect itself with the pre-existing factions, and will enlist all their animosities, partialities, influence, and interest on one side or on the other; and in such cases there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt."- A. That's all well and good, and it used to be common sense. Unfortunately, via the school systems, today's children are being trained to view everything as political.
