Hypothetical: Panthers trading up to 1 for Burrow

Think it's a given that Cincinnati would stay put and draft their QBOTF in Burrow, but it's pretty obvious the Panthers would love to have him now given they hired Joe Brady. The only reason the Bengals even entertain thoughts of this is Lawrence waiting in 2021 with the potential to add a huge surplus of picks/talent.

What would the Panthers have to give up to get him?

Is Cam Newton worth enough for a desperate team to give up a 1st+ for him to help the Panthers with the compensation required?

Should the Bengals turn down even the most absurd of offers and say no thanks, period?

Just a little something to talk about while our butts are collectively clenched waiting for Sunday.

Take Burrow.

The Bengals actually have a decent situation for a young QB. They have Jonah Williams coming back after missing his rookie season, Mixon in a contract year, and a nice WR duo in Green/Boyd. I’m sure they will spend money on the OL as well to go with Williams. There’s no reason you don’t take the safe franchise QB. He should easily have a better rookie year than Kyler given the better situation and superior talent.

I used to think-

well, you know, build yourself a solid team. Get yourself a solid pro to play QB and you've got a shot.

I was wrong. If you don't have a top 5 elite QB, you'd better be drafting one every ****ing year until you find him. And you'd better be finding yourself a QB whisperer coach too.

Anything else is spinning your ****ing wheels.
