I still tear up some Gates. I just never order ribs anywhere, because I can do better myself.

Honestly, looks like the same bacon and cheese you'd get on the Wendy's cheese and bacon fries. Easy pass.

Agreed, I find cheese sauce to be revolting. We had a Taco Bueno open up in town years back, so I stopped in to try it out, every ****ing thing on their menu had cheese sauce instead of something even resembling real cheese. No bueno, never went back, and it's possible i wasn't the only one who felt that way because it didn't last too long. Good riddance.

I live near the Gates on Main street and after going there pretty frequently I've stopped all together because the brisket has been more fat than meat most times.

You DO know you can ask for it "lean" and they'll cut off the fat, right?

Lutz's is fire. I like them for the area because they don't try to be KC style. It's country-style. Their brisket is pot-roast style. The burnt ends are legit. The sauce is Sugar Rays-ish. It's country BBQ, but damn good. They have a drive-thru at the one in Como, and it's right by work, so...

I also dig Como Smoke & Fire, there's some good stuff there. Buckingham's has some good sandwiches, but their real draw is sides and the assortment of sauces. Smokin' Chix has the best pulled pork in town.

Those are the only 4 places around here I mess with. There's a Dickey's and a Bandana's but those are both chains, so...
