Other than a CJ extension (or, don’t shoot the messenger, a trade), any other contracts where the Chiefs could free up space?
According to Arrowhead Addict, Kelce's and MVS's contracts could be restructured as well. I think they said that could free up about $10 million.

Chris Jones's March comments, "I'm a Chief for life. I will not play for another franchise!", indicated a new contract would soon be here. We are still waiting.

We will need between $5 to $6 million of cap space to deal with any roster modifications during the season. That will easily be acquired when KC reduces their roster down to 53 men. We have a lot of non-guaranteed contracts at $940K and $870K that will give us that needed space there.

What we don't have is cap space right now to add Jerick McKinnon or make a trade that requires extra cap space.

I'm sure Chiefs have a plan, we just have to wait to see it.

Makes sense.

Re Jones, Clark has recently said they would evaluate an extension over the next 3-4 months.

Sounds like we shouldn’t be surprised if they let him play out his deal and explore FA.
