LNBS: This feels like we’re coiling to strike.

Am I just a few too many drinks in tonight, or does it seem like Veach is getting ready to take a huge swing for a stud either in the draft or trading for an elite WR or edge guy?

AJ Brown said KC tried to trade for him last offseason, so it was clearly a Tyreek thing and Veach wants an elite WR. He also knows he has a hole at DT that would be playing next to Jones and George…adding a difference maker there like a Justin Simmons or Quinnen Williams would be incredible.

I may be crazy…but I think Veach is itching to add another blue chip guy to this team.

Like…a really big swing.

Guys I can see him targeting for a trade because they become FAs next year…or their QB has a payday coming up and they can be persuaded to move a valuable piece…or a scheme change…or I’m sure some of these I’m just dreaming.

Nick Bosa
Quinnen Williams
Tristan Wirfs
Brian Burns
Justin Jefferson
Brandon Aiyuk
Montez Sweat
Jeffrey Simmons

Or maybe Veach targets some guys he wants and is willing to swing for the fences for that the other team might be willing to extract value while it’s still there like Jaylen Waddle or a Devonte Smith.

Maybe it’s not a current NFL player he’s targeting. Maybe he’s planning on making a big splash on draft night with a big trade up and that’s why the pre combine QnA was built with purely softball questions and answers.

No way 10 draft picks make this roster. He’s stacked the roster with quality starters and depth across the board. Adding quality over quantity makes a ton of sense.

Even using this years 1 and 3 and next years first to move wayyy up I bet is absolutely in play.

What way to introduce a new weapon could be better than the world champs trading up to get you in the top 10-15 picks with the draft being in KC and being able to go right to the facility and meet Mahomes, Andy, Nagy, Spags and Veach right away? Incredible to think about.

We are now in his prime. Every year we will have a chance at a SB. We dont need to mortgage the future for a shot at a SB.

I'm not in favor of rebuilding and wasting years during Mahomes prime.

Within 2 years that WR is going to want to be paid. We also have to pay or let go Jones, Creed, Trey, Tooney and Bolton. Do the math.

Gonna hit like crack when Za’Darius Smith gets cut from the Vikings and we sign him in the summer for the Carlos Dunlap contract

This WR group isn’t complete. It’s obvious. Who knows exactly what the plan is but there’s going to be new faces. They’re not done - free agency just freaking started.

Oh you know how this place gets. Guys treat it like a message board version of Madden. Justin Jefferson? Nick Bosa? The Lions trading us Jameson Williams for some reason next season? It’s just fanboy babble.

We see a lot of “Veach does this…” and “so-and-so isn’t the type Veach likes” recently. Remember that less than a year ago these same people were saying that Veach views CB as somewhat of an afterthought and doesn’t use high picks on them or commit big free agent dollars on them. These people would’ve dismissed any notion of Veach trading up in the 1st round to grab an undersized (based on what Veach likes) CB, which ended up being a great move.

Moral to the story - You don’t know what Veach is going to do, I don’t know what Veach is going to do, and the rest of the GMs in the league don’t know what Veach is going to do. All anyone knows is that based on his track record, there’s a high probability of it being an intelligent move for our favorite team. Just because Veach hasn’t done something yet doesn’t mean he’s never going to do it if the right circumstances play out.

Sure.

But spending money he doesn't have when he has the GOAT QB at 28 years old would not be smart. And one thing Veach has proven, is that he's very, very smart. You don't want to have to go through seasons like the Rams last year and this year to get one ring when you can contend for EVERY ring.
