Would you like me to step down as a moderator of Chiefsplanet?

You guys essentially voted me into this role. I wanted it. I thought I would be a good fit for the role. I've always been a mediator in life. Essentially, becoming a moderator has affected my enjoyment of this site. If you've paid attention, you'll know that I don't post here nearly as often as I used too. In fact, I've noticed that's the case with all of the current moderators, and former moderators as well.

That said, I still am here daily. I read your posts, and do my best to clean up the spam, and handle the behind the scenes issues that go on with the site every day. I don't want to step down, but the fact is, I'm aware that some folks are unhappy with the way that I've handled certain situations. I'll admit it, there have been times that my emotions have affected my decisions. That's not a good thing. I've done some long and hard thinking, and decided that I cannot make snap decisions when someone pisses me off. I'm not sure there's a moderator in the history of this site that hasn't done that at one time or another though. Ultimately, I believe that I'm still a good fit for this job, and I know Kyle is satisfied with my performance to this point.

That said, I've always believed this site is all about it's user base. No, it's not a democracy. It's a free board paid for by Kyle. But it doesn't exist without you guys coming here and posting. You are the life blood of Chiefsplanet, and you are the ones that have made it the very best message board for not only the Kansas City Chiefs, but in my opinion, the entire internet.

When I came here 9 years ago this month, I had zero experience with online communities. Chiefsplanet was the first board I'd ever joined. Since then, I still have never joined another online community. Growing up in Seattle, it was amazing for me to be able to connect with a group of people that were as passionate as I was about the Chiefs. I love this place. No, it's not what it was too me, but I don't see myself ever just walking away from the board. I may not post as much, but I always read it. You guys are ****ing hilarious. I throw a bone in there once in a while myself.

Enough rambling. I'm putting my head on the chopping block. I haven't brought this up to the other mods, or Kyle. This is my decision to make, and mine alone. If you're satisfied with my work, then vote yes. Keep me on as a mod. If not, vote no. I'm a big boy. I can take it if you don't like my style. It will be a public vote for obvious reasons. No harm, no foul regardless of your take. We can still be friends, even if you don't like me as a moderator. I won't take it personal. This poll will be open all weekend, and close early Monday morning.

It's your call. Your voice. Your will on whether or not I will continue to moderate here at Chiefsplanet. Make your voice heard.

You're right. But you revel in i. You enjoy it. You're right in there in the shit with them. Therefore, you're equally culpable, generally. The only reason I've ever had your back was for racial slurs and rightfully so. But you're a problem child and I think even you know that.

There's some truth to that. But that didn't excuse him resorting to scorched earth tactics.

why not a binding poll on whether or not rep stays?

We do what we can.

But the flipside is that all this started because a couple long time members abused people via rep. They got their rep bottomed out just like everybody else who abuses rep and suddenly that made me a bad guy and I earned all kinds of disdain from them. How about that inner circle, y'all? Pretty fun, eh?
I am the first to admit I am not on here near as much as I used to be mostly because life gets in the way, so I don't know what exactly goes on all the time but what little I have seen it doesn't look much different than it was when I joined 10 years ago. Of course there is exceptions like the personal battle between Native and Fraz and others. I know BRC has a few followers that constantly rag his ass and I am sure he gets tired of that. But that kind of stuff is going to happen with a large group of people and pretty loose moderation.

I have suggested several times about getting rid of rep, it serves no purpose and just causes trouble. If you did that and people only accept PM's from their friends then alot of the sniping would be done in the open where mods or other people can call them on it.

There are plenty of bitter rivals here, and in just about every thread there's someone cussing someone out or people just being very nasty to each other simply for disagreeing with a point of discussion.

frazod vs. kc native could have continued on for years and years except the racial slur line was continually crossed and that's pretty black and white.

But I think it's become a major issue for the community here, the "**** you" tenor of most discussions.

I'm an agitator. I'll claim that. That's also why I don't ask for posters to be banned and have only raised issues when I feel like I've not been treated unequally.

I will add that I don't go after posters that are civil towards me and others. I do tend to go after posters that I feel like bully others or are just general loudmouths (or just ask for it i.e. MTG).

Yea...I can't deny the blow up at the end, but I could understand where the dude was coming from. On the outside looking in it appeared that Fraz was being punished while there was little acknowledgement that Native had any wrongdoing. I've never talked to Fraz about it, that was just my view of what was going on. That's why it was nice to read your last few posts in this thread.

From where I'm sitting, your signal to noise ratio is a lot more noise. You have to do something to repair that perception. I don't dislike you but you're a problem.

Native is smarter about his trolling that most the guys he's baiting. He knows the rules and he stays within them. That makes it impossible for me when everybody else is stepping on their own dicks to get to him. The two month "lawnboy" schtick was just a small, unfortunate piece of the pie. But what am I supposed to do if one of my friends starts calling a black guy "lazy darky" because he got under his skin. I'm going to do what is right and my friend is going to be pissed at me.
