I wonder, would it be feasible for the divers to drag some kind of hose back there to pump oxygen in? I'm assuming that 2.5 miles makes that virtually impossible, but surely there's something they can do. Someone call Walter O'Brien. Team Scorpion can figure it out.

SPACEX boss Elon Musk is sending engineers with “advanced ground penetrating radar” in a desperate bid to help the young footballers trapped in a Thai cave.

The 47-year-old was asked on Twitter whether he could help the 12 youngsters who have been stranded in the flooded cave for nearly two weeks.
He said that two of his firms, The Boring Company and SpaceX, had the equipment which was “pretty good at digging holes”.

Mr Musk also suggested a way which could help the boys and said a 1m diameter nylon tube could be used.

He said it could be “inflated with air like a bouncy castle” which would create an “air tunnel underwater”.

James Yenbamroong, founder of satellite communications provider mu Space Corp, said that he was contacted by SpaceX who are trying to help...

No clue, but it seems like drilling a line to them might be shorter. But I'm sure they've thought of that too.

I think thats a pic of a cave diver just not this event. This cave is been described as a visibility of less than a foot in the flooded areas.

I read that drilling to them would be a shot in the dark into that pocket where the kids are. It could also open up other place for water to come in. There are no accurate surveys done inside this cave where horizontal and vertical information is located inside then traversed back outside to horizontal and vertical benchmarks and Triangulation points on the ground outside. It would be like being blindfolded and take off on foot across those mountains then say drill here.

I think the reason they are scouting for uncharted opening on topside where they think roughly the kids are. If they find then they can climb down and look for the life line that was run to then through the tunnel. The line has reflective material the lights up when a headlamp hits it. Also I understand that glow sticks sorta like kids Halloween sticks have been placed also.

Anything to eliminate the 2 mile dive.

How Deep Can It Go?

This is probably one of the most commonly asked questions. In most cases an estimated depth range can be determined with accuracy based upon the subsurface material and the frequency of the GPR antenna. For applications requiring higher resolution, such as locating rebar or conduits in concrete, a higher frequency GPR system (1,000 MHz) is used. This will give high resolution detail for down to approximately 24 inches in depth. Applications which require deeper penetration in ground soil requires a lower frequency (12.5 MHz to 500 MHz). This is going to be a tricky one. If I had to guess of the O2 tube being run in and a long couple weeks is in their future due to the rainy season, length of swim, lack of surveying data, and there's no roads to transport the extrusion equipment if they managed to find the surface location to begin digging.
