Rasslin is YES! YES! YES!

Last thread has well over 10,000 replies. Its body is breaking down like The Undertaker's. Seeing as we might have crossed the threshold into a new era in the business, here's a fresh new thread.

Halfway debating turning this off after this match. Absolute abortion of a RAW so far.

There are two ways to get over: ability or booking. The WWE's problem is that they actively punish guys who get over on ability and make them subservient to the chosen ones who they want to get over. What they've never realized is that all of their best stars got over on ability, but rather than looking for that, Vince has always needed to satisfy his daddy issues.

Hogan was over due to his unique look, charisma, and Rocky III. He was already a phenomenon when he went back to New York.

Warrior was booked like a monster, and guys like Rick Rude got him over, but he wasn't good enough to actually carry the torch.

Next, Vince went to Luger, who again, had the look, but he didn't have the workrate, mic skills, or charisma to get over, and it took almost a year and a steroid trial for Vince to pull the plug on him.

Bret Hart got over solely thanks to Bret Hart. Shawn Michaels was a bitch of a politician, but he was never booked like a monster, and he largely got himself over. Austin was hired as a midcard mechanic, and he got himself over despite a string of losses.

They originally booked Rock like a franchise face, but the fans shit all over him. Again, he got himself over in the Nation. The only reason he even entered the Austin feud was because Farooq no-showed the Raw after Montreal, so they put Rocky into his spot for that program.

The office put the rocket ship on Lesnar, who didn't want to travel or work house shows, and then Cena was the chosen one to be followed by Reigns.

They almost never make the right decision on their own.

I think that awful Flo Rida segment killed off the crowd for good. All but dead for that match.

Yup. Everyone suffers in the end. WWE suffers because they never expand beyond a core audience and the fans who actually care about talented, interesting characters are left with milquetoast bodybuilders.

Sure he did. KOTR was a forgettable title. Mable won it the year before. That Austin 3:16 promo wasn't written by creative, and it made a huge difference immediately. He was just going to be a midcard to upper-midcard heel. He didn't pander to the crowd for months. He got bigger with the most awesomely badass heel segments of the decade against Pillman. Austin lost every major match he had against Hart and got bigger each time. He ate the pin at Canadian Stampede and it didn't hurt his momentum at all.

Sure, by mid-'97 they decided to build him as the next guy, but to that point, he got himself over and did it with little help.

Daniel Bryan too...he was clearly nowhere in their plans and they wanted Batista v. Orton so bad but their hands were forced because the crowds were shitting on everything.

That's the problem you're seeing now...the crowds are telling Vince and co. that they don't want Reigns but he's so hellbent on making him the next Cena for whatever reason that they're just ignoring everything.

Imagine that, a naturally entertaining guy goes on his own script and is entertaining as hell.

And now TND is out here. This segment is 14/10.
