Is it too early to talk about the 2024 draft?

Hello fellow sick ****s, and who am I kidding? Of course it's not too early!

OL:

Joe Alt, OT, ND - son of former Chiefs OT John Alt. Looks like a top 10 pick if he makes the jump that he should as a Junior. Future 10 year starter at LT.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn St. - I'm not so sure this guy wouldn't have been the first OT in this years class, and he's like 19 years old. I like him more than Alt, and feel he has more upside with his athleticism.

JC Latham, OT, Alabama - another young prospect that is already really ****ing good. Not sure if the plan is to move him over to LT with Steen gone, but he looks like a guy that could make that transition. If you're looking for a guy to potentially trade up for should Taylor remain at LT, this is probably where that starts. The other 2 won't be attainable.

Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU - former 5* transfer from Oregon. Another guy that played RT at a high level as a RS Fresh, but could move over to LT now that Freeland is gone.

Zion Nelson, OT, Miami - I was surprised to see him return to school. Nelson probably would've been drafted in between Harrison and Bergeron (or after Bergeron) if he came out like expected.

Cooper Beebe, IOL, Kansas St. - he definitely sticks out as the top interior guy in what looks like could be a weaker class. Strong and stout at the POA. Probably a 2nd round pick at worst.

TE:

Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia - absolute stud, and might be a guy like Pitts that gets drafted very high for a TE. Would've been TE1 in this year's loaded class IMO.

WR:

Marvin Harrison Jr. WR, Ohio St. - I think Harrison is already the best We prospect I've seen since Calvin Johnson. Him and Julio are very close for me. He's as close to a sure thing as you can get at that position. Great size, body control, hands, and more than enough speed.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio St. - reminds me a lot of Chris Olave, becuase he's bigger than you think, but moves around effortlessly like a smaller guy. It's absurd that he's the 2nd best WR on that team.

Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas - SPEED. Could be a guy that we look at to replace that element when we inevitably lose MVS after next season.

Rome Odunze, WR, Washington - moves really well at 6'3". Good strong hands and very productive last year. Could be a guy that goes late 1st if he has another strong season.

Malik Nabers - I think guy is being really slept on out of the group. Very productive with good size and plus speed. Looks like yet another LSU NFL WR

Johnny Wilson, WR, FSU - a poor man's Mike Evans, Wilson is probably a 2nd round pick, but a good one.

QB:

Caleb Williams, QB, USC - I know this guy gets compared to Mahomes a lot, but he really reminds me of a much bigger Kyler, but with the personality and leadership qualities that the Cardinals wish Kyler came with. When you look at it like that, that's a really ****ing good QB. Would've been my QB1 easily in this class.

Drake Maye, QB, UNC - Would've been QB2 for me. Maye has the prototypical size and arm strength that teams look for, and I wouldn't be completely shocked if there's a team that has him QB1 going into the season because he's that good, despite Williams being one of the best prospects of the last 10 years.

RB:

Blake Corum, RB, Michigan - undersized but elite quickness and really good speed. Not sure where he ends up, but he figures to be one of the top RBs in the draft even at his size.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio St. - he's a 3 down RB if he can improve his pass blocking. Battled injuries last year but still productive. He's probably RB1 if healthy.

EDGE:

Jared Verse, EDGE, FSU - Man it would've been nice if this guy came out like people expected. It's possible that the chiefs could've stole him at 31. After another season, and a weaker EDGE class next year, he's probably going top 15.

Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama - this guy looked like a future top 5 pick as a Fresh. Pretty sure he's part of the reason Sanders transferred to Arkansas. The production wasn't really there last year, but with Anderson gone, he's probably going to explode and be a top 10 pick.

Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA - Very productive with good size. I'm not quite sure he's as big as he's listed though, because he looked more like a 3/4 OLB size wise to me. If the size checks out, he can probably play in any front.

J.T. Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio St. - a bit more of a projection since the production has t quite been there yet, but the flashes are there. He was more impressive than the 3rd round pick Harrison IMO.

Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn St. - very similar player. Production bit quite there yet, but the flashes are.

Braden Trice, EDGE, Washington - unlike the last 2, he's more like Latu. Very productive with great size. Not really the bendy type, but should be a really good player.

IDL:

Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois - productive and disruptive IDL. If he can keep building and top last year's production he's probably going in the 1st round.

Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami - very disruptive player and one of my favorite Hurricanes of the last 20 years. Taylor plays like the old school Canes, and though the sack production hasn't been super high, I think it will come next year.

Maason Smith, DT, LSU - didn't play in 2022 due to injury, but really flashed as a Fresh in 2021. He has the upside to be a top 15 pick IMO.

LB:

Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB, Clemson - there are 3 stars in the draft with NFL bloodlines, so I'm sure that will be talked about quite a bit. Trotter Jr. looks like a 10 year starter at MLB. Probably a top 20 pick.

Barrett Carter, LB, Clemson - yes, I think Clemson probably has the 2 best young LBs in the game. Carter is all over the ****ing field when you watch Clemson's D.

DB:

Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama - what a name. He might be the best CB Alabama has had since Saban's been there other than Surtain. I think he's a top 10 pick.

Kalen King, CB, Penn St. - this kid is also really ****ing good. I think him and Kool-Aid will be battling it out for CB1. Kool-Aid is CB1 for now, but it's closer than people think IMO. They're both phenomenal prospects.

Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa - this is the Christian McCaffrey of CBs. I know we all laughed at KnowMo for the Broncos taking his teammate Moss, but DeJean is legit. He has size, athleticism, and ball skills that you just don't see in a white CB. I don't know for sure know if he's a 1st rounder, but I think he'll be a 2nd at worst. He has a legit shot at round 1 though.

Javon Bullard, CB, Georgia - a fan favorite and an unsung hero of that Georgia D. This due is a tough SOB and and absolute stud inside. If the Chiefs want a true slot corner to replace Sneed, he would be a great fit.

Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio St. - I can really see him climbing up boards as the season goes on. He could easily be CB3 in this class with a strong season.

Calen Bullock, S, USC - one of my favorites very early in the process. He's more of a FS type, but he plays bigger than size, and will absolutely lay the wood. If Edwards walks, he could be the long term replacement for that deep safety role.

Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami - I really like Kinchens, and he plays like the old school Canes just like Taylor, but I see him in a lot of early 1st round mocks, and I don't think he's quite there yet. He could get there though. I like him in that slot safety role where he can make plays in the middle of the field.

Andrew Mukuba, S, Clemson - fully expect this guy to come out and prove he's S1 in this draft. Definitely the most upside of this group, and looks like a guy that should end up in the 1st when it's all said and done. Maybe even somewhere in that 15-20 range.

Early impressions of the 2024 class is that there seems to be elite talent at a few positions (Williams at QB, Harrison Jr at WR, Bowers at TE). Those guys seem to be the best prospect at their position over the past few years. A lot can happen between now and the draft but could be a very compelling draft class.

The only guy I'd add to that is Brevyn Spann-Ford - TE. Built like Darnell Washington, he can do it all as far as I can see. Surprisingly athletic and can block.

The guys I really liked last year from staylor's list are:

Verse - I REALLY wanted him to declare. He was my favourite "might just fall to us" DE, but in all honesty I think he'd have been gone, and I think he will next year.

Fashanu - Young and super smooth, I think his ceiling is sky high.

Rome Odunze - WR - I think with Rice he's less important than a speed option, but I think he does everything well and would've provided something we didn't have. If Rice somehow doesn't work out I wouldn't hate going back to the well for a guy like this. I think he could fall to us.

I thought Zion and Spann-Ford were coming out this year, curious to keep an eye on them and see where they land in the draft next year.
