Guys like Ward are available/found every year. A good GM will make good use of that pool. I think McKenzie is the next.

sure, I'd agree with that.

It also makes any particular individual pick less of a big deal; and just the process of finding and developing young talent really the whole ballgame.

I like Ward and am optimistic that he may be a real find. I also think Mckenzie is interesting-like he's either going to be completely awesome or completely terrible. I see no in between with him.

Eventually, I think our starting safeties will be Mathieu and Sorenson. Im supposing that will be the case provided that Mathieu is flexible where he could play either center field or in the box.

I agree with you on Lucas. I have a gut feeling Watts will get hurt. This isn’t a great safety duo but one that is serviceable and that I could live with.

I hope Kpass gets a chance to win the DE spot opposite Clark in Spag's 4-3 under front. All that size, length, and speed would work a lot better there than at OLB in Sutton's 3-4 front. It's a shame that 2 years of his rookie contract have been wasted trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole.

I’m honestly okay with Sorenson as a starting safety. Dirty Dan brings the hammer and shows up when it matters most. Lucas is solid depth. Watts was balling out before the injury situation

Chiefs kept with the low 1st year salary cap number & ballooning one in the 2nd year with Frank Clark. His 2019 cap number is $4.8M. It's $28.3M in 2020, which screams restructure for cap purposes to me.

I am about 95% certain we are drafting a corner. With Clark’s 2020 cap hit, I think WR has moved up to 85%.

No way we pay Sammy $21 million and Clark $28.3 million next year.
