Chiefs Would you rather be 8-0 with Alex Smith or 3-5 with Geno? - Page 39

Our offense is terrible with Alex Smith. It would likely be worse with Geno given his propensity to turn the ball over and give the other teams points through pick 6s and returned fumbles for TDs. So seeing as how we barely win with the offense we have now, we'd have likely lost more than a few games if we had Geno as our QB.

But would you rather take those growing pains with Geno, or be 8-0 with Alex and be in the driver seat toward a first round bye in the playoffs?

They could've had him down into the second round and still passed on him.

IMO, they took a good look at him and simply decided he isn't a west coast offense QB, and based on what we know Bray isn't either, but the difference is they got him for a song.

I think Giving 2 2nd round picks for Alex and then giving Chase 10m over 3 years. Took all rookie QB off the board.

Well, considering it's not rocket science, making that argument in hindsight is pretty dumb. Twenty three GMs didn't want Aaron Rodgers, but like Geno, some people thought he was going to go much higher.

And it's not like striking out on a QB in the first round would doom the franchise any more than they have been for the past 40 years.

To a certain extent, who gives a shit if other teams need or want a player... not that I'm a huge Geno fan, even though I would have liked to see them try, if it was 1.1 or 3.1, but whatever.

Chiefs had the top 10 players in for a invite. Chiefs only did that with Geno hoping a team would trade up.

Teams bring in 20+ players to work out. Just because you bring someone in doesn't mean you want them. It just means you want to see more of them.
