My Dad got the shot right before the Super Bowl. He's 79 and doesn't go out much, if at all. So he's very seldom around people. Tuesday he was admitted for being positive.

He's out already, but seems odd how he went through the entire year without getting it, and then gets it immediately after getting the vaccine.

It would make sense to leave room for boosters in the future. The variants are already here. My sons childhood vaccination record has empty slots.

330 employees on our campus vaccinated with 2nd shots and not a single problem besides some feeling side effects for 24 hours post vaccine.

You have to be super-proactive. I was able to get in at Wal-Mart. They do a rolling scheduler calendar, so new slots will open up at midnight.

You could also call places to see if they had any no-shows that opened up slots. If you're just sitting and waiting for the call, you're going to be sitting and waiting for a while.

My doctor sent this to me. They have the ability to offer testing for long term immunity but choose not to offer it. Too much useful information to have in the hands of the general public.

Here we have a local district health department that is tracking vaccinations. They proactively update their website with area vaccination site news, links included. That's how we got an appointment for our dad at Walgreens. People here are watching it daily. You have to be quick and a bit lucky.

My daughter came down to do a little vaca from caring for her MIL who has alzheimers. She was on every list that she could think of in the greater KC area. While we were discussing how hard it was to get a jab, she just reviewed her Hy-Vee list and put in our Zip Code and got a shot and appointment for the second shot the next day. Go figure.
