Winston mad at the Fans

Arrowhead Pride ‏@ArrowheadPride

Eric Winston was very angry at the cheering when Cassel got hurt. Held court w/ the media for a few min about that in the Chiefs locker room

Gee, I don't know.

The fact that Winston IMMEDIATELY jumped to that conclusion says more about how bad Cassel is than anything else, IMO.

If the same thing happened to Manning in Denver, I bet you'd be able to hear a pin drop as soon as people saw him on the ground.

Some people continued to cheer after they realized KC got a first down.

Stop being such wusses and acting all offended. People have hoped for a Cassel injury on this board the last few months. Some people cheered and even more were happy he left the game.

And now San Diego is joining in on the fun. Not one, but TWO radio stations out here were talking about it this morning.

On one of the stations, it was mentioned on their "F U of the day" segment. Big F U went out to chiefs fans for cheering for one of their own being injured.

What in the world would make Winston - or anyone - jump to the conclusion that anyone was cheering Cassel being hurt? That is just....well, insane in my book.

I see fans at every game cheering positive plays and I see fans cheering whenever one of their players, who appears to be hurt, gets up and is able to walk off the field. That happens every Sunday.

This is just an example fo someone wanting to be ticked off at the fans and it makes him look really bad - especially for being a first year player with the team we've been with - in may cases longer than he's been alive.

Wow, he really made an ass of himself with this.

Being at the game, it was pretty damn obvious that a very large amount of people were cheering Cassel's injury. Here is how it went:

Pass to Charles, people start cheering, he is tackled, people cheer the first down.

Pile starts to get up and Winston and a couple others are calling for trainers as Cassel doesn't get up. The stadium erupted.

That goes on for a minute or two, then Quinn steps out on the field. More cheering.

People clap for Cassel as he leaves the field.

I think it is hilarious how the reaction from the organization has been. Winston jumped to a conclusion that every fan was cheering the injury. It just shows you guys are in their heads. They think about you more often than they let on. Keep up the pressure, keep up the good work.

The media doesn't follow or give a shit what happens in KC. They are completely out of their wheelhouse when it comes to understanding the situation here.

They are simply uneducated on the miserable pile of shit known as Pioli, Crennel, and Cassel.

I got to tell you, I didn't get that perspective at all from where I was sitting. It was difficult to even tell wtf was going on, until Quinn started warming up.

Emotion skews judgement of a situation, and I would assume that Winston was probably a shade emotional when Cassel went down.

It’s one week without Cassel. I won’t gripe.

I posted this in another Winston thread too...

What's sad is Eric Winston is the 1 freakin guy on the whole team who actually has been stepping up to be the leader for this team. Now he's turned on the fans and they are turning on him. Would have been nice to have him anchor RT next year w/ our new franchise QB draftee. Maybe this misunderstanding will pass...

I was one who cheered taht moment. but here was the bigger picture. Jamaal made a helluva play, and I stood and cheered. Then saw Cassel was down, and I kinda (weakly really) cheered again, BECAUSE... because I knew KC had no choice but to make a change at that point. And yea, I was pretty damn happy about that. At no point am I cheering an injury to any player, Chief or otherwise. I hope we can get this message thru to Winston, cause I'd love for him to be here to protect rookie QB next year.

Also, I stood and cheered when Cassel was ok and got up to walk off the field.
