Well, some political views are bullshit. At a certain point it's no different than saying "well, I think the earth is flat and you have to respect my opinion!" and then going thread to thread trying to convince people the earth is flat..... and then when you get booted for it, going to the Gripe thread and complaining that the mods simply don't like opinions they don't agree with, and cancel culture is out to get them.

And that last point of course diverts quite a ways from the original point of locking threads and so forth, but just to say that's kind of how I feel about the whole censorship and 'cancel culture' thing. I totally get there are legitimate concerns with it, especially when people who have power can suppress the real truth for their own.... but, around here it seems much more like an easy go-to whenever two people disagree on something.... and it's aggravating.

And being a mod a here, it's not so much "don't want to see them but listen to them anyway".... take the Covid crap and our general rule of not derailing every Covid-related thread with pages of Covid bullshit. It has nothing to do with not wanting to see a certain opinion or any opinion, it has to do with what's better for the community as a whole, which is being able to easily access football news while not sifting through the same freakin' stuff through several threads to find out if someone is playing or not. That is in general, not referring to the recent locked threads.

Having an opinion that certain political players have an agenda or a hidden agenda, which they label as "conspiracy theory", or what they consider "misinformation" is their justification for them canceling people or canceling the entire DC forum. Calling for banning posters who hold such opinion is canceling them for an opinion they don't agree with.

Or like Dipshit, they merely enter the DC forum to swipe at at DC poster and then leave and also whine to the mods. That's all they contribute.

Yet, we hear it's childish to point out who started the aggression, should one respond to defend themselves, even if more civil than the aggressor. Well, this is the exact thing that grown men that are elected to office do, when they justify entering a war to fight back. It's because they say, using various other words, that the other side started it.

I have heard that calling another poster a audio is a bannable offense around here. Taco doesn't do that, but he accuses posters of "normalizing" it, i.e., supporting those who do it. Close enough.
