I hope Al Davis is doing this on purpose. The last time he did this so openly to a player the guy ended up signing with us and had a pretty damn good career. What was his name again? Oh yeah, Marcus Allen.

It seems that Porter explodes for a game, then disappears for a stretch. I've yet to see anything from him that shows he can be any sort of consistent #1.

No, but if Trent was unhappy with him, he probably would've been outta here on the same boat Thorpe was on. They were drafted in the same round, and some would probably say Thorpe was the better prospect coming out of college.

Good point, and sound logic, but Parker drops a lot. He runs all over the middle, understands where he needs to be in terms of his route, and gets great position sometimes, but then he doesn't make the catch. Porter is a little more physical,
parkers 14.8 avg is respectable, don't get me wrong, it's only year three, I hope I am wrong actually. I hate the Raiders.

Count Randy Moss as among those who find themselves perplexed about the way the Oakland Raiders go about their business.

At least that’s how it sounded Friday afternoon in a Fox Sports Radio interview, when a rambling and occasionally contradictory Moss sounded less than enthusiastic about his organization heading into the season opener on Sept. 11.

Moss, who seldom if ever talks to the local media, talked with host Chris Myers on “The Drive,’’ which agreed to advertise his clothing line.

While Moss said he was eager to get things started, his tone regarding the direction of the Raiders raised a few red flags.

For example:

— “There’s a lot of funny things going on here in this organization, and I try and keep my distance.’’

“Things are so fishy and question mark around here, and the only thing I can do is go out here and practice.’’

(Editor’s note: That’s exactly how he said it. Things are so fishy and question mark around here).

— “I`m just not thrilled with the way things are going around here. I’m thrilled, I’m glad, to have Aaron Brooks as my quarterback. It’s fishy around here, so actually, we’re walking on egg shells around here, man.’’

— “It’s crazy around here, man. It’s something that we’re trying to hold on to, man, and hopefully coach Art can move us in the right direction. I’m trying to stay away from all that stuff like I did last year, and hopefully we can win some games.’’

Sound confusing?

With Moss, that’s not unusual.

There weren’t a lot of specifics as to why Moss thought things were “fishy.’’ He said he was surprised and disappointed by the trade of Doug Gabriel to the New England Patriots. He didn’t want to delve too deeply into Jerry Porter’s exile to the bottom of the depth chart, “because I know what can happen if I put a little bit of my input into it.’’

The admittedly tricky part about listening to Moss is trying to determine exactly what he meant. It’s not easy.
