my final predictions:
Chargers/Texans: Texans win 21-18 I think this one will be a defensive slugfest. Both teams play around their D and both teams rely on their QBs to make a big play here or there to generate offense. When it comes down to it, I anticipate Stroud making the big throw in this game more than Herbert does. I trust Houston’s secondary to lock down the Chargers and their lack or a dynamic playmkaing threat. Also think Nico Collins makes a big catch at a big time to help the Texans edge them out. And honestly, my main reason for picking against the Chargers is the fact that EVERYONE is acting like this game is a foregone win for them. I know Harbaugh is there now, but the Chargers will Charger until proven otherwise. Broncos/Bills: Bills win 38-15 I feel like everyone is trying to paint this game as closer than it will be. I know the Bills defense is a serious concern, but really. Denver? A rookie nix going to Buffalo and going toe to toe with JAllen? A Denver team that beat one playoff team for real all year? If you say it out loud, you realize how insane it sounds. Yes, Denver has a very good DL, but the Bills as a pass protecting unit are among the best in the league. Look at how Cinncinati did absolutely everything they wanted against Denver’s D. Buffalo doesn’t have the weapons Cincy has, but their overall offense is just as good. I think Denver will hang around until the end of the 2nd quarter where the Bills really ramp it up and run away with it. Ravens/Steelers: Ravens win 17-13 Yet another game where I disagree with the prevailing narrative. Seems like everyone thinks the Ravens are gonna roll. I do think they win, but I think this game will be a dogfight. We all know the Steelers are good at dragging teams into the dirt with them, and their opponent being the Ravens gives them an even better chance of executing this plan. They know them. The Steelers won’t be scared having to play against Lamar. I think, especially without Flowers, the Ravens are gonna have a real hard time getting a consistent passing game going, and therefore I anticipate the Steelers will keep Henry in check. I’m guessing the Steelers have a late lead and Lamar runs around just enough to get a go ahead TD drive in the 4th. Packers/Eagles: Eagles win 33-27 Looks like Hurts will play which is bad news for Green Bay. I had the Eagles winning even with Pickett slotted in. I think the Packers playing their best ball could give the Eagles a run for their money, but they’re not playing their best ball, and losing Watson is a massive blow. I see the Eagles putting away the game early in the third, and most of the backend of the third and fourth is Love racking up garbage time points to make the score look respectable. Vikings/Rams: Rams win 28-27 This one is a coin flip. I think a lot of it comes down to if Kupp can show up. The Rams don’t even need him to put up 100+, as long as Nacua is doing Nacua things they really only need a big catch from him here or there when they gotta have it. I have a feeling that the Rams DC will have noticed what the Lions did to Darnold in week 18 and try to replicate it to a degree. The Lions used the same exact gameplan against Darnold as the Pats did in the infamous “I’m seeing ghosts” game. Now, the Rams are a team that loves rushing 4, so I don’t think they’ll blitz as much as Detroit or New England, but I see them sprinkling it in for key downs. Skins/Bucs: Commanders win 35-31 By far the game I expect to have the most offensive firepower, and the one I’ve had the most trouble deciding between. Neither team can really play defense and both offenses are explosive. There are arguments I could make in favor of either side, but what I think it’ll come down to is Quinn making a defensive adjustment when necessary whereas I think Bowles will stick to his meatheaded obsession with stacking the line of scrimmage against every team like he’s playing the 90s Cowboys. Both Daniels and Baker will make big plays and I really think it comes down to whoever had the ball last.

Kind of crazy that KC played all four of their potential divisional match-ups in the past month...

The Ravens/Steelers game is interesting...Lamar/Harbaugh are 3-5 against Pittsburgh. Jackson is 2-4 in the post-season.
Baltimore just lost their #1 WR this week...and the Wilson-led Steelers beat them in the first meeting. Flowers being out changes the strategy a bit... The last game was close until Wilson turned it over... This is a divisional rivalry that knows each other...wont be too surpised if the Steelers pull an upset. |

Yeah, I think it'll be the Eagles/Vikes/Bucs that come out of the NFC. Some shakeup or surprise entrant this year. We haven't had one of those "how the hell did they get in" super bowls in a few years.
