Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

DPMS makes a good rifle, but their triggers are shit. They need a good polish and some new springs. Some of their target models come with J&P's, which are way better.

I used stock triggers for a long time, but when I built my 24" bull I ordered a Rock River 2 stage and it completely spoiled me.

I can't stand rifles with bad triggers anymore.

Yeah, my 15 is a DPMS. The trigger that came in it originally is now in the junk drawer.

If I was to redo mine or build another, I would either use CMMG or Mega.

CMMG makes a complete 308 for about $1400 the last time I looked. Great quality on their 308's, the new ones that take sr25 style mags.

Mega makes a billet upper/lower that take sr25 mags and can use either dpms or armalite style barrels. This would be the best of both worlds.

I use to love my RRA 2stage triggers, until I dropped the coin and bought a Geissele. Now the RRA triggers feel like shit to me, I can't even imagine trying to use a cheap single stage ever again.

Damnit.

I like my Armalite 2 stage, but if I ever use a Geissele I know it will end up costing me money.

Where in the Sam hell does one go to shoot a pistol outdoors? I'd like to set up a few targets to practice scenarios etc. nothing elaborate, but things like shooting one target twice, reload, three in the next, reload and two in the next etc.

I'm tired as shit shooting at indoor ranges

Wow, my dad and I popped the stock POS trigger out of my RR 16" carbine today. He polished it with 400 and 600 grip paper while I "clipped" the hammer spring and bent the trigger spring to release tension.

The trigger tester read 8, yes 8 pounds of grinding pull before the trigger job. After, it was a beautiful 4 pounds.

It took us about 10 minutes to completely transform the trigger from garbage to a pretty nice piece.

Here is the link that I used to adjust the springs:

It's not bullshit, it does work.

I've gone back and forth between the two, honestly I'm picking the CMMG mostly for being a smaller company from missouri. Any last input to consider would be appreciated, looking for more recent feedback to compare between the two. Most of the older criticism has been answered. They both have warranties now, etc.

One thing that really turned me off the Stag, was a rep trying to sell it said that Stag is the base manufacturer for Rock River and Smith & Wesson. I smelled BS, but can't find any information to confirm or deny his claims.
Done today, post pics when I get it
