IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I won my work fantasy football league. Today last year's champion gave me the traveling trophy that gets passed around to the winner each year. He said, "Nice job. So man, what was your secret? You must have had some kind of insight, because your team was amazing."

I told him, "I knew Patrick Mahomes was the truth."

"Oh, sure, I suppose so. It probably did help that you got a really lucky break with Mahomes."

"I don't think you quite understand. I'm a Chiefs fan. I KNEW he was going to be amazing, and I also could tell everybody was sleeping on him. The practice reports, team reports, all the scrimmage footage, and the improvement I saw from preseason to week 17 of last year... everything about him spelled the best QB in fantasy football since Rodgers in 2011. Other than take players I liked, that was my entire strategy. Acquire Patrick Mahomes."

"...Oh." Dumbass stares at me like I'm insane.

Whatever. It was my first year participating in that thing, and I kicked their asses with MY QB. Not some douche**** NFC QB I had to draft in the 1st round, and not some random reerun I plucked off of waivers when he had a big game. It was the guy I had pegged because I KNEW he was going to be this good when nobody else did. Because he's the QB for my team.

Feels good, man.

Steve Young gushes about Patrick Mahomes. Says he's "jealous". Picks Chiefs.

Agh. Won't let me jump cut on the embed. It's at about 11:50 or so.

After watching him in St. Joes his rookie year in camp, I knew he was the real deal. I drafted him in the first round of my fantasy league in 2017 and never started him all year as he was behind Smith. We are allowed to carry over 2 veterens and a rookie from the year before. All my buddies laughed at me. I carried him over and won the league this year.

I think I drafted him in the 8th round or something like that? Everybody at the draft made fun of me for the pick. Then again, they're all Vikings fans. They did a bunch of stupid shit like make Kirk Cousins the 2nd QB taken off the board. Dalvin Cook at the top of the 2nd round.

The really funny part is the ONE guy they should have really taken (Adam Thielen) went in like the 9th round

And gave a sensible answer as to why he thinks the Chiefs will win: it's easier to to pressure the QB at home vs. on the road, and whichever team can do that should win.
