Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

You can, and NEED to throw off your back foot in the NFL when the situation calls for it.

All of the great QBs do.

One of the greatest ****ing passes in NFL history came off Joe Montana's back foot.

One of the reasons Cassel sucks is because when he tries to throw off his back foot he's incapable of delivering an accurate pass. Geno can do it in his sleep because he's TALENTED.

Shut up.

What a sick throw. From under center, too.

Don't care how talented he is at doing it. If you were to ask any OC or QB coach if they would rather have their QB throw off their back foot or briefly stop, get the technique down and step into their throws, which one would they have their QB do?

Geno can make every throw, but a lot of the time he has time to set his feet and throw it properly but either throws it off his back foot launches his body into throws.

Not a big problem at all. Very coachable. But it will come up when he's watching film with his coaches. That's guaranteed.

The gif you have in the post above mine is a perfect example of him setting his feet and using his technique to step into his throw and make a perfect pass.

Bitching about Geno throwing off his back foot is still stupid.

He does it well. And as you said, it's coachable.

To say he can't do that in the NFL is also stupid. Lots of great QBs do it.

When did I say he can't do it in the NFL?

And what about him locking onto WR's constantly (Tavon Austin) when other WR's are open or not reading blitzes at the LOS very well?

Those are legitimate problems.

It was because it was his first read. He couldn't have made that pass out of playaction like that from there unless it was his first read. Great ****ing throw though.

So now we're hypothesizing about what Geno can't do based on things that didn't happen on a TD pass.

If only we held Matt Cassel to such high standards.

That wasn't a negative statement. Shit, are you kidding me? I want chocolate pain! I'm just saying, it would be virtually impossible to make that throw on a 2nd or 3rd read from the 8 yard line. ****, Matt Cassel couldn't have made that throw out of a damned shotgun.

Btw, that pass was delivered in the perfect spot. I mean perfect. Only the receiver had an opportunity to catch that pass.

I guess I don't get what you're saying then. That's gonna be the first read for every QB on that play.
