Andy Reid got thoroughly outcoached

Belichik didn't do a damn thing different then what he's done the last 6 weeks of the season and Andy Reid completely choked. No gameplan whatsoever. 37 yards of offense in the first half and I put that on Reid not Mahomes. He went the first 2 quarters without running a single bunch set, a single rub route, not once did he move the pocket, and only once did he run a play action pass. Not a single screen and no misdirection. He was dropping straight back in shotgun against a blitzing defense when he has a QB that can move.

Andy actually made Belichiks defense look like the '85 bears for a quarter.

I'm gonna have to agree with the folks in Philly who hate on him so much. Reid just doesn't have it.

I have to agree here. Reid IS Marty 2.0. I can't stand Belichick. I mean, literally. But he has produced, year after year after year.

Reid is the guy who lets the "big stage" grab him by the ass and beat the crap out of him. Marty was exactly the same way.

The Chiefs can completely retool the Offense and the Defense. Bring in new players and new coordinators - but it will be the same result until changes are made at the top.

They ****ing drove all the way to the end zone in OT.

Bob Sutton was the one who got bitch slapped here. Reid never had a chance in OT.

Exactly.

Sutton has been the ****ing problem all season. He had one good game against Indy.

He’s done in KC. Hopefully he’s fired soon and we start looking at the best possible candidates

It was evident, at least to me, that the Patriots were ready for the Chiefs and the Chiefs were not ready for the Patriots. All week, the talking heads were showing how the Patriots shut down the Chargers and confusing the offensive line. The same thing happened to the Chiefs.

The biggest difference between these two teams is the coaching, Reid appears to be concerned only with the offense and all of the toys he has to play with. The Patriots lined up and ran the ball all over the Chiefs. The Chiefs responded by putting in bigger linemen and the Patriots ran short routes that were open all game long.

The Patriots took away:

1) Defensive Pass Rush
2) Hill
3) Kelce
4) Time of Possession

Blame Sutton if you want to, the head coach is ultimately responsible for this. Neither side of the ball was prepared for what they faced.

Offensively, the Chiefs made no use of their superior speed by stretching the field horizontally. No jet sweeps or crossing routes. With a leaky line, that was extremely odd.

Yep. Not to mention, the head coach kept Sutton this season when it was clear
he was ineffective. If you’re the head guy and your handpicked guy you kept ****s up, that’s on you.

Not to mention, I know they game planned to take him away but you have to find a way for the biggest playmaker in the league to get more than 1 offensive touch. Nagy basically did the same thing in regards to Cohen showing it’s a systematic issue.

Here's the deal though everyone knows the defense is weak. The best asset the defense has is the offense. Andy Reid is the offensive coach. Belichik used the EXACT same defensive scheme he used against San Diego and Andy was totally unprepared. There's a reason teams rarely play that style of defense because they get TORCHED very easily. Andy is supposed to be an offensive guru and he has all these weapons and had no plan to use them against that scheme. 37 yards of offense in a half of football. Inexcusable. The defense played well enough to keep them in it, forcing 2 turnovers, but really the game was lost in the first half, particularly the first quarter, by the total lack of offensive preparation. You move the QB, move the receivers horizontally, bunch the receivers, bootleg, stack the receivers. There are 50 different ways to torch that scheme and Reid did none of them until a couple of times late in the game.

Bob has the Indy and Titans playoff debacles. A loss when the offense put up 51. This loss wasn’t some soul crushing defeat like those other 2 playoff losses but come the **** on. How many more chances is this guy gonna get? It better be true he’s retiring, someone should crap in his retirement cake.

Alex and Andy own the Steelers loss. So fat Andy has wins over a really bad Texans team and an overrated Colts team. But he’s gonna learn from this.

It’s pretty simple... Belichick effectively took away the Chiefs top two offensive targets... double teaming Tyreek and jamming Kelce, while Sutton let Brady drive down the field in OT throwing to their top two weapons, Gronk and Edelman.

It’s amazing that Andy was so unprepared to counter a Belichick defensive strategy that everyone saw coming before the game.

Our offensive game plan was a steady diet of run up the middle or slow developing pass plays. Where the hell is our quick passing game? I know we have one, we spent 5 years doing it with Alex Smith. We also used it more early this season. Andy needs to self scout his play calling in a bad way.

It took Bob Sutton until after halftime to even run a scheme that had a chance to stop the run. But all things considered, getting out of the first half only down 14 was a minor miracle. But giving up 13 3rd down conversions in the game and three 3rd and 10s on the final drive in overtime alone was excruciating. Bob Sutton needs to retire. Andy isn't going to fire him. But holy shit Tom Brady was killing us pre-snap.

All that said, I'm proud of our boys. Imagine what they could do if our coaches pulled their heads out of their asses.

Some of these post are pathetic. Like it or not we played against a team and a coach who have been in this game 8 straight years.... Eight! This was our first at home EVER, and our first in 25 years. We got off to a terrible start and the TOP in the first half hurt our Defense in the late parts of the game. We made great adjustments at Halftime. We won the 3rd and 4th quarter 31-17, with some really strange calls and a completed catch by Hogan that stood as called on a 3rd and long that would have given us the ball back with the lead. I swear to god, Brady sold his soul to the Devil...

If Ford isn't a few knuckles offside. Brady exits with 1 TD and 3 picks, and Gronk likely retires with a missed reception that was tipped to KC for the victory.

This thread is stupid... Reid's first year with a HOF caliber QB and we lost in OT... It sucks, but the overreaction by some of you suck more.
