NFL Network was talking this morning about which QB landed in the best situation, and someone said that Herbert was in a bad situation "because he's going to be in Patrick Mahomes' division every year for the rest of his career." I love this world.

Chargers didn’t win anything. If their QBotF doesn’t pan out all they did was waste a top ten pick. Have 10x more confidence that our pick at 32 will contribute more.

Like the Murray pick, solid pick. Although, they gave up a lot to get to that pick. Not sure I would have sacrificed all that draft capital in a deep draft. They basically gave up the ability to draft any more instant impact players.

I realize Chargers need a QB of the future, but Herbert doesn't scare anyone. I guess he could become an okay NFL level starter. Don't see a high ceiling there.

I feel like they should have addressed their O-Line at that early pick. They could have had their choice of a number of elite OT's, but whatever.

They had an okay first round, but don't have any Day 2 picks now.

Don't hate it, but certainly don't love it.

This is a good take. Just don’t believe in Herbert.

Getting Murray isn’t bad and would have loved to see the Chiefs make the same move if it didn’t take half our draft to get there. We just didn’t have the bullets this year. Got a solid instant starter who will contribute for the next 5 years so all is good.

Yup.

Due to all the rumors, I think they thought Miami was taking Herbert and they would get Tua.

When Tua went off the board, rather than re-setting and making the best pick (elite OT) they panicked and took the QB they thought Miami was taking, even though they didn’t like him near as much as Tua.

But they have nothing at QB behind Tyrod Taylor, so I think they felt like they had too even though it wasn’t the smartest move.

The pick was a perfect example of not letting your board fall to you and instead reacting to what someone else does.

I mean, maybe it will ultimately work out for them (it won’t), but they’re gonna regret this pick a lot in a couple years.
