He's done. He was done when he left Atlanta.

Back issues for a guy his size are a career killer.

I was so glad when we let Poe walk. (Back injuries are nasty)

I can't believe the turds around here that wanted to give him big money.

Then again, people loved Alex Smith and Bob Sutton.

It’s a shame Poe never had his weight in check. Even when he was drafted and his body didn’t look like it was 350, it was. He was a physical freak of nature with elite potential, but has always been heavy. If the man had the willpower to control his eating habits and was drafted into a system that kept him in a healthy rotation, he had the potential to be an all time great.

That’s probably always been his story, though and likely a big part of why he didn’t go to a good school...regardless of his physical attributes.

A shame to waste that kind of talent.

He actually got a lot more out of his career than I ever expected him to. I thought with his weight and back issues he'd be out of the league a couple years after he left KC.

He wasn't really effective in Atlanta. He was all but done when he left KC.

They just kept giving him chances because of his rare combination of size and speed.

All I ever heard from his combine and what he did in KC was that Poe was a svelt, ripped 350 lbs. If he didn't look like he weighed that much, he probably didn't have much excess fat on him, meaning in addition to just being a big big man, he had a ton of muscle on him to take up that weight. Was there really that much he could trim off? Like... where the hell would it come from?

I remember him having a back injury and never really coming back into form.

Bob Sutton didn't have the word "rotation" in his vocabulary. Poe played hundreds of more snaps than he probably should have and his body broke down because of it.

Add in the perspective of "anyone is going to be better than Garrett," and it seemed like a no-brainer, probably.

Hell, I thought it would be an improvement over Garrett. I mean, McCarthy did win a Super Bowl, that should count for something when rating HCs, shouldn't it?
I just don't see how any front office, regardless of his interview, could look at Green Bay's offense and think, **** YEAH.

And Rodgers played well enough to win many rings.

Plus the defenses led by the ****lehead he hired derailed many a season.

And the list could go on for ever.

Excellent point.

Crennel before him did too. IIRC his first back injury was pre-sutton.

I mean, yeah, **** Sutton, but it's not all him.

Yeah, an organization that saw one of its players kill his girlfriend and himself at Arrowhead while dealing with the aftermath of the Tyreek Hill saga should definitely look into trading for a guy that was out of the league for the past 4 years due to domestic violence and multiple DUI arrests, along with claiming to have a bomb in his luggage to LAX security.

Good plan.
