You guys really need to learn stop engaging trolls. No matter how many facts you bring, they'll keep arguing. That's the point of trolling.

To be perfectly honest, I'd feel cheated.

We've done that already, MANY times. And it's never worked.

I'd love to give Reid the benefit of the doubt but I've been a fan too long and I've seen too much failure.

I haven't gotten angry.

I just think your parents failed you.

This kind of stupid needs punishment.

I mean, yeah, you can say it's a different because it would be a unique situation, but in the end, I'd probably feel the same.

One of the things the continuous trolls brought up in any discussion of Geno is that even though he put his team in a position to win, sometimes with SUPERB play (see Oklahoma), it was still his fault WVU lost whent he defense gave up the winning score in the last few minutes of a game.

We're trying to hold to certain standards for accountability here. We've been told that "he had no defense" is not a valid defense for the team not winning.

How often do #1 overall QBs get dumped after an underwhelming second year? Isn't going to happen.

If he sucked the second year, the third year there'd be idle talk about competition, maybe a veteran brought in to 'push' or 'motivate' him. But the team would slog through another year hoping to turn him into a system QB or get some pennies back for their dollar.

A #1 overall is going to get 3 years easily, and if he doesn't work out, you've got to start over drafting another one. If your next one hits, it's probably year 5 before you're ready again.

All the while, there's a pretty well proven commodity available for a second, third, possibly free.

SO.

****ING.

WHAT.

Post from milkman in another thread explains it very well...It's not very hard to understand:

People that ask this question clearly do not understand the difference between the college game and the NFL game.

The talent level of the best team in the NFL and the worst team in the NFL is marginal at best.

In the playoffs, the thing that separates one team from another is usually at QB.

In the college game, the thing that seperates one team from another is the overall talent level of the teams playing one another.

Syacuse was a more talented team.

Even with that difference in the levels, Geno Smith almost singlehandedly carried WVU to an Orange Bowl win last year against a far superior Clemson team.

Thank you for the clarification my friend, it seemed out of character for you. I must, if I am going to hit and run, every couple of months, read more than two or three pages back before I post. In retrospect, I prolly had a valid point but, it was directed at the wrong person(s)...
