*.* 2013 General Fitness Thread *.*

Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

**From the 2012 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

I am mad about the price of whey too. Dumb companies like Gatorade are increasing the demand for it by making really expensive/shitty products. Not helping the rest of us out who just want some good quality whey that is cheap.

****ers.

5 lbs for $30 seems like its fair. Not $53. I bet I could get nearly the same amount of protein buying $53 of milk, if not more. Too bad it makes my stomach feel like shit.

In 6 weeks or so I've gone through 5 lbs. I am thinking about adding 50% more protein to my list workout shake and I've just recently started drinking a shake first thing in the morning. I think I'm looking at 5 lbs a month.

$53 ain't so bad, but I literally have $60 in my checking account t and my next paycheck goes straight to rent and a truck payment, and whatever's left is for food.

Hence, I can't afford it right now.

Yea, I wouldn't pay that price for Whey either. That 5lb bag of ON used to be $25-30. Whey has almost doubled in price in the past 5 years. It's pretty reeruned.

we feed whey to our Nursery pigs from 12 pound pigs up to 25 pounds. I usually get 10,000 pounds at a time and mix it at 200 pounds per ton of feed. Always thought it smelled good and it comes all the way from wisconsin, a by product from a cheese factory.

I really ****ed up my ankle on Monday night. I blocked a shot with the outside of my foot, and it pointed my toes toward the ground, right as all my weight was landing on it. Yay.

Hyperextended whatever it is that runs from the middle of my shin all the way to the bottom of the outside of my foot. Swelled up real nice and there's a lot of blood and bruising. Still a bit swollen, but I can walk around okay. Gonna have to take some time off from cardio. I guess that's okay, because it's been a while since I've taken any time off.
Sucks man. There was a time I was getting one like that 3 times a year. **** that. Part of it is there is no open gym here, but I'm glad I haven't had to deal with that recently *knock on wood*

I had been doing quite a bit of biking, but back to working 16 hour days has killed that.

Yeah, that stuff is $52.99 everywhere I shop. If it's the same size container I get, it has 77 servings. Last me over 3 months usually..
