I ranked QBs entering the 2020 season

My boss went home at 1:30 but we apparently gotta stay here and browse the interwebz until 4:30 so I have been creating a ranking of NFL QBs and I'm sure I'll be called an idiot and that my rankings are ****ing stupid but whatever

I didn't bother with rookies and/or guys that the jury is still out on (: Burrow, Murray, Haskins, Darnold, Jones, Tua, Minshew, Lock, Stidham)

1. Mahomes

2. Wilson

3. Jackson 4. Brees 5. Rodgers 6. Watson 7. Brady

8. Wentz 9. Prescott 10. Ryan 11. Roethlisberger

12. Cousins 13. Stafford 14. Rivers 15. Garoppolo 16. Goff 17. Tannehill 18. Carr 19. Mayfield 20. Allen 21. Bridgewater

22. Trubisky 23. Taylor

I feel like Bridgewater could be anywhere from 12 - 21 but given the injury and the lack of playing time I threw him ahead of Trubisky/Taylor and Stidham.

What say you all? Hope you all have a good weekend

If there is one thing we know, QB Rating doesnt always tell the story. It CAN but if your QB is a gutless piece of shit like Carr or Alex Smith its just an inflated stat for conservative QBs.

I agree on that. Guys like Carr and Smith look good on QBR and other stats that dont involve winning games when it counts, but I couldnt take Cam over Brady like you suggested. I hate Cam and I hate Brady, for different reasons but given the same weapons you gotta take Brady. We dont even know what to expect from Cam at this point, which is why hes still unsigned.

I think you guys are thinking of passer rating.

QBR weighs certain downs & distances and late-game situations more heavily.

Not a high school coach, either!

Not saying Singletary is a great coach or anything, but coaching high schoolers is way different than coaching pro athletes. Or college players. Some of the best coaches in the NFL (think lifeless robots like Belichick) would make terrible high school coaches unless they drastically changed their coaching/teaching philosophies.

That being said... it's time for Mike to hang'em up

Okay, here's my ranking of how the quarterbacks will perform in 2020. It's not looking at the long term, but rather this year in a vacuum. My out of the box predictions are that Daniel Jones will develop quickly, and Tyrod Taylor and Phillip Rivers will do better than expected.

On the other end of the scale, I think Brady will continue his collapse, Brees will continue slipping out of the top tier, and Goff's decline will continue.

KC Mahomes
GB Rodgers
Bal L. Jackson
Sea Wilson
NO Brees
Hou D. Watson
Det Stafford
Ari Murray
Ind Rivers
Dal Prescott
Atl Ryan
NYG D. Jones
Min Cousins
LAC T. Taylor
SF Garoppolo
Phi Wentz
Jac Minshew
Car Bridgewater
NYJ Darnold
Den Lock
LAR Goff
Ten Tannehill
Cin Burrow
Buf J. Allen
Oak Carr
Pit Roethlisberger
Cle Mayfield
TB Brady
Mia Tagovailoa
NE Stidham
Chi Trubisky
Was Haskins

I had Murray as the highest rated QB after Mahomes in the last 5 drafts. Agree.

Brees is a HOF player but no longer a top ten QB..the ball flutters when he throws it over 20 yards now.

You missed a 2 in front of the 3 for Jackson. I'd rather have minshew.

What if Chicago starts Foles instead of Trubisky (as many expect them to)

Yeah, there were a few team where I wasn't sure what they'd do. The Bears, the Steelers, and the Dolphins, to be specific. In the case of the Bears and the Dolphins, they might move up a few spots if they start their veterans over their young guys, but I don't think they'd move up past 20 or so. Foles has had some great runs, but he's kind of a coin flip from year to year, and Fitzpatrick ... well, god bless his very soul so I wish him the best.

I have no idea what's happening with the Steelers. I assumed that Roethlisberger is coming back, but I also have a hunch that he won't last the season as the elbow flares up. They may end up being toward the very bottom, which they richly deserve.

Can't take this seriously at all with having Dak ranked above Ryan. NM saw that wrong, thought you had Dak a full tier above Ryan instead of 1 spot. Dak isn't even 1 spot better but can at least call this a good list now. I'd still put Rodgers above Jackson though.
