I like drafting a DE in the first round, I don't love the Center situation.

Have thought about this a little more, and the defensive front situation is also intriguing in your draft.

Would you hope Tillery would be your starter for week 1? If not, who would be? I thought Hamilton was more of a NT than an end.

Also, you put Speaks in the DE category, do you think the Chiefs might put him at DE next season or is that just what you would do with him?

Tell me about Tillery, Gustin, and Brown.

Who do you project each player as, if there's an NFL equivalent.

As far as projections I'd say these are mostly about similarities in size and athleticism and you hope they become these types of players, but I'd say I see them as follows:

Tillery - Malik Jackson, Cameron Heyward, etc type
Gustin - T.J. Watt, Whitney Mercilus, Ryan Kerrigan type
Brown - Jonathan Joseph, Ronald Darby, Donte Jackson type

Front 7 situation looks bleak heading into next season. They pretty well have to address the DE spot. They have a history of not retaining aging ends so I don't think Bailey is getting re-signed. Tillery is a guy I'd draft to start, yes. I don't know if the Chiefs can have an honest assessment of Speaks and not move him back to being a down lineman. He certainly hasn't shown me enough to warrant a starting job anywhere. I think you put his hand back in the dirt and you make him your rotational player at the end spots. The Chiefs may very well have to draft or sign another player at DE because I do agree about Hamilton not fitting overly well outside. Neither do Williams and Nnadi though, so he could be an odd man out at some point.

I'm not super high on most of the linebackers in this class, but I do like a few. If Joe Bachie declares from Michigan State, I'd be tempted to take him in round 1 and if he were there in round 2 I'd sprint to the podium. The Chiefs need to take some shots on ILBs all throughout the process in all likelihood. Hitchens and Ragland are terrible out there in coverage. I'm hoping Niemann sees the field soon so we can get a clear picture of what he is.

I may be severely overvaluing the contract Tre Boston would get and I'm really surprised he only got a 1-year deal this season. He played really well last year and is doing so again. I had him in my offseason mocks last year and I don't know that the Chiefs even sniffed there. Who knows, maybe they will this time around.

How would you address it? I don't think you can re-sign Mitch Morse at any sort of lucrative deal given his concussion history. If he would sign for a modest contract then sure but I don't see that being his goal. I did take Risner in the 3rd with the idea of moving him back inside to center where he started his college career and was really good there.

I agree Bailey is probably going and I'm fine with that. There are a lot of interesting defensive interior options in free agency as well as the draft, Brent Urban, Shelby Harris, Margus Hunt, Wilkerson and Suh all playing well and provide a variety of price options to add to the line.

At least we are going to get a long look at Speaks as an OLB this season with the Houston injury, to work out if there's any way he can play there.

I'm fine with a Rookie but if you do that I think I would want to retain Devey. There aren't a lot of options in free agency, Paradis over in Denver is playing very well.

The Morse situation, I agree with you completely. I wonder if the concussion history will mean he won't get a lucrative deal, but he'd be an idiot not to test the market and see if someone will pay him.
