The thing I loved about them is that you had to have skill to ride them. Every used one you saw on a showroom floor usually had an associated story with it...

"Yep some guy bought this last week, endoed it and broke his neck"... you know, that kind of story. My uncle bought an 86' Tecate 3 wheeler, and that thing was still to this day, THE nastiest motorized vehicle I have swung a leg across.... well, sans the 1994 CR500 I rode once. Something is just wrong about a 500cc 2 stroke motorcross bike...

By the time I talked the folks into something fast, it was a 4 wheeler I got:

That's me on the yellow LT250R pulling the front wheels on a TT race in moberly, MO, circa 1987. Wish I still had that scoot, it would be worth about twice what I paid for it back then...

That sort of thing was frowned upon where I grew up and hung out.

Plus my Mom, overprotective woman that she is, would never have let me have such a thing.

My buddy had a 3-wheeler and we rolled that thing constantly. The danger of those things was not over-exaggerated.

I watched a dude roll one on concrete once. I saw the way he landed and have correctly predicted broken collar bones in 4 or 5 situations since. It's a very distince landing that results in the broken collar bone. Blah.

I've got a CRF230F that I ride around on. My buddies have a couple of older ATV's that we'll take and drive around his ranch on. Glad the weather is getting nice again and I can get back out there.
