This would never have happened if California just had some common sense gun laws.

There were a whole lot of people in that bar who needed one. They just didn't know it.
Agree

In Southern California, San Bernardino and Kern Counties are pretty much shall issue. I'm not sure of the current status of Ventura County, but in the past it was shall issue, same with Orange County, but I believe that has changed within the last 5-10 years. Los Angeles County is a big fat no. Unless you are a celebrity/have serious connections. Rural Counties up North are fairly Conservative, so I would imagine it's relatively available.

This is a prime example of why laws like that are a complete joke. Anyone crazy enough to go shoot up a bar, isn't going to give two shits about some hokey mag law.
Not like it would matter all that much anyway. A trained shooter can drop/replace mags in about two seconds.

This.

I was in Arizona about 7 or 8 years ago, where everybody and his brother is armed, open carry, etc. Walk up to any restaurant, and they have a sign on the door that says no firearms permitted inside.

In Missouri, if you have a legal CCA, you are prohibited from carrying in any bar. So a nutter who wants to do his last act should know he can snap caps. When I went through the class, we asked the what if...what if I carry anyway and a bad guy comes in and I take him down? Answer was you will be charged under the CCA law.

Any restaurant? Hell, they don't even do that here. I think you're exaggerating a bit.

Plus, I really don't give a **** about signs. And if I'm eating dinner in a restaurant and some asshole wanders in and starts shooting up the place, and I kill him, nobody else will, either. And even if somebody does, better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

We have a serious mental health problem in this Country, and instead of addressing that, the media and certain politicians have forced the narrative toward the tool being used to commit these crimes, instead of the person doing it.

There are many ways to commit murder, taking away firearms is not going to fix the problem.

That said, until we start being honest about the real problem here, nothing is going to happen.

It's unfortunate that the very fabric of our Country, a fundamental right that separates us from the rest of the world, will once again come under attack. It's also unfortunate that the narrative has brainwashed a certain segment of the population into believing that firearms only belong to crazed lunatics and conservative 'gun nuts' and have no place in our society. It sickens me to the core.

But again, ultimately, I believe our rights will be dissolved in favor of a false sense of safety, but so it goes.

Liberty is and never was safe.

That's all I am going to say about this.

I saw those signs all over the place.

If you're saying that most people will just ignore the signs and go in anyway, carrying, well, that's speculation.
