I don't know why firing Sessions would cause protests. If Trump appoints a toady to fire Mueller and spike the special counsel's investigation, then I can see it, but why would they care about this? (Other than needing a new outrage-of-the-week)

(BTW, weren't they calling Sessions every name in the book during the confirmation process?)

Think it was a planned protest (impeachment?) in the works prior to the sessions firing.

Well, to be fair, they already had the protesters just waiting around looking for something to do.

That's essentially what he's doing. The guy he put in charge for now instead of Rosenstein has openly condemned Mueller and the investigation.

It's just another way to keep the outrage fires stoked. The one truly positive thing the left can take away from the mid-term elections (even winning the house was pretty lame, given the small numbers gained, considering the money discrepancy and the number of R retirees) is that the constant maintenance of outrage in their NPCs led to a huge turnout which might have swamped the Republicans if not for the Kavanaugh fiasco lighting a fire under the asses of conservatives.

And the Donald probably had Sessions' resignation letter some time ago and waited until the day after the midterms to accept it. So?

I don't think there are many libs who are particularly fond of Sessions. Rather, they see this as the first step in Trump shutting down an investigation of which he himself is the target.

It's fake outrage. I love it because it generally backfires on these fools (Democrats). Moderate US Citizens, that can tilt the balance of power in our Country one way of the other, get turned off by extremism. I say, rage on, you liberal nutbags!

Well time will tell on that, but Sessions should have been shown the door long ago. He just wasn't Attorney General material, he always seemed lost and weak. He would have probably made a good school teacher, but he was a light weight in his AG gig.
