*****Official 2017 NHL Playoffs Thread With Contest*****

I thought it would be cool to have a thread for the best postseason in sports, the NHL Playoffs.

Even though my Kings are out, I love watching the playoffs and wish the best to all of you with your teams.

Here's the link for the bracket predictor. https://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/leagues/chiefsplanet

The password is Lonewolf and I hope we can get some of you in there with a bracket. Enjoy!

Although, losing Polak for the season has turned their defense from garbage to stinky poo poo.
Yeah their blueline is very thin right now. Although I have to admit, Gardner has been fabulous so it kinda alleviates that sting a bit.

Orpik is one dirty mofo. He tried to take out Marner as well Knee on knee.

Somebody needs to scrap Orpik. And even Kuznetsov. See him taunt Polak yesterday after the Caps scored? He's a punk. I have developed hatred towards those two players now.

What the hell is going on with Chicago? I don't understand. They got shutout twice on home ice. They don't have a goal yet this series. Shocking.

This is one team I don't get.

I've done some research for hockey in the last 50 years. 45 of the last 50 Stanley cup champs have ranked in the top 10 in goals against or better throughout the regular season.

Pittsburgh is an exception. The 3 times they've won the cup they didn't have goals against ranked in the top 10.

They have so much luck. Last year Murray comes out of nowhere and back stops them all the way.

Marc Andre Fleury is not a great goalie but apparently he has been on fire this series.

This team used to suck so so bad after Lemieux retired and soon after he took over his reigns as owner of the franchise. They get rewarded with two straight 1st overall picks in Crosby and Malkin. Team has horseshoes up their asses.

Man, that Blues game was awful... I skipped through it just before the Pens game started, meaning I was hitting the 'skip 30 seconds' button about ever 10 seconds after every whistle. And I guess if the Preds do advance, it could work for a couple of series.

They were 6th in goals against last season.... and through the first two games of the playoffs this year, they're EASILY playing the best hockey of any team.

This game deserves OT... it was getting ridiculous in the first period, but fantastic hockey since then.

Never thought the Pens would be in a position to sweep Columbus, but what an opportunity on Tuesday to rest up and get healthy for Round 2.

What a disheartening loss for the Jackets. Up 3-1 at home and then to lose in overtime? Oof...don't think they come back from this.

To be fair I have zero ties to KC and I'm a Chiefs fan , but yeah Pittsburgh is my local market. I just can't stand the Steelers and their fans so I "picked" an NFL team I liked.

Pens on the other hand, how could you not like Lemieux, Jagr, Stevens, Samuelson, Downtown Robbie Brown, Ron Francis, The list goes on.

Yeah we had some shit years. I remember cheering when we broke our 17 game losing streak during the crap years. It was against the coyotes in overtime and scored by Rick Jackman! I remember the local coverage BEGGING us to buy lower bowl seats in a 5 pack for 25 bucks a piece. Instead of interviewing OUR players in between periods, they interviewed the other teams players LOL!

We lucked out when Malkin was held back from joining the team because of the KHL dispute and we had another year to suck netting us Crosby. The Pens are very lucky and very blessed that's for sure. It's a fun franchise to be a fan of.
