Chiefs current news:
-The Chiefs first preseason game is tonight at 7:00.
-Television commentary crew for tonight: Roger Twibell, (former Chief CB) Jayice Pearson, and Rich Baldinger
-Starters should play the first quarter.

-Last matchup between these teams was Dec 20th 2003 at Minnesota. The Vikings won that game 45-20, in a game that saw Priest Holmes tying the single season rushing TD record of 25, set by Emmit Smith.

-This will be the first game experience for several new Chiefs, including: (Rookie LB) Derrick Johnson, (LB) Kendrell Bell, (CB) Patrick Surtain, (S) Sammie Knight, (DE) Carlos Hall, (WR) Freddie Mitchell, and (Rookie P) Dustin Colquitt.
-This will also mark the return to the gridiron of some Chiefs that missed significant time in the past few seasons to injuries, such as (WR) Marc Boerigter and (LB) Mike Mazlowski.
-The competition at LB is heating up. The Chiefs will probably keep 7 total linebackers. There are currently 11 on the roster, and ANY of them might make the team. The only sure thing is Kendrell Bell at this point. Some of the younger guys to watch are:
--LB Rich Scanlon: Rich just finished a campaign with NFL Europe in Berlin where he led the league with 94 tackles, and won the DEFENSIVE MVP award for the whole league. Expect big things from this guy tonight and throughout the preseason.
--Rookie LB Boomer Grigsby: Boomer is a big guy who likes to put his hat on the ball carrier. He set the Illinois State career tackle record with 580 tackles! Divide that by the 44 games he played in (only 40 starts) and you get an astonishing 13+ tackles PER GAME!

-The Chiefs look thin at Middle linebacker (assuming that Kendrell Bell moves to the outside). The current MLB hopefulls are: Former starter Mike Mazlowski, Last years starter Kawika Mitchell, and rookie Boomer Grigsby. Maz was never all that fast, and even when healthy was a liability against the pass. That should only be compounded by the fact that he's had surgery on his left knee that kept him out for a full year. Last years' starter, Kawika Mitchell, was a disappointment for most of the year. (as was the whole defense). The Chiefs currently have him slated to start in the middle, and are expecting much improvement from the third year player. Rookie Boomer Grigsby is a promising young player, but he wasn't a high draft choice, and it might take some time before he can develop. He might not even make the final roster.

I'm not sure if you can join it or not. Hope so. I try to keep it up to date, but lately my internet connection has been on the fritz... So...
