Is Herm Deadwards at least positioning us well for the next coaching staff?

We all know that his coaching philosophy is nightmarish, and that we're destined for failure on Monday for each game the following Sunday.

But...the guy is apparently good at identifying talent.

In his short tenure, we've added the following talent. (Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm doing this from memory.)

Kolby, who looks good at RB.
Croyle, who I think could be good and seems mobile.
Super Bowe
McIntosh, who is a serviceable left tackle that we got really cheap
Hali, who I think is going to be good and is just in a sophomore slump
Boone
McBride, who is getting playing time and is active
Re-acquired Donnie Edwards
Napoleon Harris, though he's disappearing after a strong start
Brackenridge
Pollard (who as yet is more potential than production)
Rayner was looking like a good pickup earlier in the year before he wilted.

I suspect that Herman Edwards will be here for 2 or 3 years before Carl fires him and then hires another one of his incompetent buddies. But is Deadwards at least upgrading the talent level?

(Disclaimer: we can't really blame Herm for the loss of Roaf, Shields, Green, Holmes, etc.)

Funny you should mention it. I was just saying the same thing the other day. Herm will get us good players through the draft. But his piss poor coaching skills will never take full advantage. He will be fired in a year or two and the new coaching staff will make good use of the young talent.

I guess the other positive thing is that he'll get us high draft picks, too, which will help the next staff.

Certainly so, Mr. Rain Man. Herm does some things very well. He appears to have the ability to evaluate talent, he has more metaphors than John Steinbeck, and Mrs. Herm says he's very considerate in bed.

One of those things is good for us fan people.

Before he left the Jets he said ''You always want to leave it in better shape for the next guy''. he destroyed the QB and a HOF running back.

He has no clue what to do, and any sane person listening to the mumbled horse shit coming out of his mouth knows it.

My brother in law and a co-worker are both long time Jets Fans and they have nothing but hatred for Herm. My BiL doesn't even take the game too seriously and was jumping for joy when he left.

The team is still recovering from "the germ".

Thanks Carl!

Herm recognizes talent. He just should have nothing, zero, nada to do with planning and executing an offensive game plan.

Herm + Norv Turner at OC = KC playoff run.

AJ Smith will surely fire him. Hopefully Carl can scoop him up. Else we are facing year 3 of the Solari Dynasty.
