He might be the most underrated pitcher in baseball. The guy is a monster.

Hell of a catch to save a HR, the perfect game, and a no-hitter.
And he did it against the AL Champs. |

Unfortunately, he can't hit. 4/40 career without an extra base hit.

and truly a good guy, too...
Last year (or maybe the year before?) when everyone in the world thought the Sox had to trade him, he made one last start and the crowd gave him a standing ovation, real emotional...he was so grateful he ended up signing a huge hometown discount...guys like Zito got $150M...settled for 4 years and $56M...not chump change, but there are no doubts he could have gotten at least $130M on the open market...you don't find many lefties as consistent and durable as Buehrle, put him in the NL and he's going to win at least 15 a year with an ERA probably under 3... |

**** the White Sox and all... but big ups to Mark. He's only the 16th pitcher in the modern MLB (20th century +) to throw a perfect game.
AJ Pierzinsky wasn't catching Mark today, which is pretty sweet. Also, Obama has requested, this very minute I type this, to speak with Mark. |
