Turns out Derek Carr was available

Raiders' Derek Carr listed on Craigslist posting ahead of NFL trade deadline
By Marcus White October 29, 2018 11:12 PM

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr told reporters after the team's loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday that he's "not going anywhere." That didn't stop someone on Craigslist from trying anyway.

There's a listing on the site entitled "Trading Derek Carr for Future Draft Picks - $86,002,519," which says the QB is "[in fair] condition," and that the Raiders will accept draft compensation.

The page was created on Oct. 22 at 1:11 p.m. so Carr's stats on the page don't include his three touchdowns and 244 passing yards against the Colts. In Carr's last game before the post was created, he threw for a season-low 142 yards in a 27-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The listing also features biographical information from Carr's high-school career that was copied-and-pasted from the "Early years" section of his Wikipedia page. It also includes a helpful reminder to not contact the poster "with unsolicited services or offers," so only serious inquiries are welcome.

Who they are welcome to is another question entirely. We've reached out to the creator of the listing for comment, and will update this story if we hear back, but chances are this is not how NFL teams are conducting business ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

Even if it was, it probably wouldn't shake Carr, at least based on what he said was communicated to him. Carr told reporters on Sunday that the Raiders informed him he will not be traded. Coach Jon Gruden referred to Carr as "the strength of this team" in his postgame press conference.

“I’ll say this: The conversations I’ve had with those guys makes me confident I’m going to be here,” Carr said. “When I heard all this stuff, it didn’t worry me. It’s more fun for people to talk about and try and figure things out on ESPN."
