What? He didn't pass much at all. We were almost running a martyball offense.

Gailey was acting as the QB coach to, so unless he's being reassigned full time to that role, we need someone to do two jobs now...

I like it! I was OK with Gailey as OC, but I'm glad we have people in there that don't **** around.

Now that I think about it, we should've known. Chan didn't have a Chiefs logo sticker on the side of his head.

Why limit yourself to just one option? Surely he could have accomplished a physical beating and then presented Chan with his release form in the same meeting....
:D

WOW!

Just wow.

Gailey did offset some of Herm's sucktitude, but I don't think he was a miracle worker.

I do think that Chan is superior to Haley doing both and Carthon doing...anything. We'll see.

I'm not too high on the move. If there were irreconcilable differences, they should have been addressed earlier.

Minus a broken jaw (the Faid still crack me up!), I don't really see anything that they couldn't have found earlier.

This.

...maybe averaging one TD a game wasn't enough? :hmmm:

soundmind 08-31-2009 10:04 AM

Well, I was a bit surprised by this one. I thought they were just going to weather the season with staff as-is....but I have to admit, this is kind of awesome. I'm actually impressed that they have the mind to change what isn't working. Is it Chan's fault necessarily? No. Could he possibly help this team more from another position right now? Maybe. But 33 points in 3 games isn't the reason this happened, it's the preseason and the OLine sucks. My guess is they realized that the offense was worse than they thought (specifically the line). And instead of letting it fester, they made a broad stroke move.....I like it.

Can't be a re-post. That only applies to thread starters. Read the planet by laws.;)

I'll bet he said see we don't need Cassel we have Capt Thigpen and if you'll just let me put in the pistol we can win!!

Jerm 08-31-2009 10:05 AM

Too bad we couldn't pull Chucky out of the MNF booth to be OC.

Damn Haley is one cold blooded mofo and personally, I love it.

Chan: "Hey, you know, I think Thigpen gives us the best chance to win in week one."

Haley: "F**k you, clean out your desk."

LMAO That's the best part of this whole affair; it clearly spells the end of the Hobbit.

DaWolf 08-31-2009 10:06 AM

Well I guess if you are telling the players that they better perform or else, then you have to hold your coaching staff to the same standards...

Mr_Tomahawk 08-31-2009 10:06 AM

Firing your OC two weeks before the start of the season when the two apparent candidates for playcalling are Carthon and a rookie head coach, doesn't seem to be the wisest move.
