Great signing! I hope he beats out Cassel, he has weapons and a defense like never before. He's still young too with a lot of potential.

There really no downside to this signing. If he turns out we are set, if he fails we are in a position to draft one.

The downside to this signing is this isn't legit competition for Cassel's job.

If the Chiefs aren't finished and add Hasselbeck (if he becomes available) or draft a QB then your statement is correct, however if this is Fat Scott's idea of legit competition for Cassel then say hello to another year of shitty QB play in KC.
